Didn't see the full list, but Mertesacker was named in Germany's 27 man preliminary squad.

See I thought that at first.. but in reading the reddit thread there were several who say Klose has a chance since he tends to be just that much better in international competition for some raisin. Also the midfield is just so crowded with talent on BS7.

Yeah, Was a pretty fun final to watch even with no dog in the fight really.. almost had me late though.. had to make an avengers movie for 1:20 for a date and left at 1:03, at like the 91st minute at least the score stayed the same.

Only 100% confidence I have are Neuer, Lahm, and Jesus. I'll try to put a lineup together in a few minutes.

For those interested in such things..... Google Street View is up in most of Poland, and the Euro 2012 host cities in Ukraine.

The stadium in Gdansk looks like Soccer City!!!

As soon as I saw the Gdansk stadium, I heard the "when I get older, I will be stronger" song in my head.

That song still gives me goosebumps.

Not many great strikers in German soccer. He won't play unless something goes terribly wrong or there's a blowout.

Goalie:

Neuer is starting.

Defense:

Lahm is starting. The rest of the spots are up for grabs. I have no idea what Jogi will do but I'd like to see:

Lahm ---- Badstuber --- Hummels --- Howedes/Boateng

Boateng is better at center back than he is at right back but he can play both. Schmelzer is a good player as well. The defense is pretty deep.

Midfield:

Jogi will probably start Schweiny and Khedira together if he sticks with the 4-2-3-1. I actually think Kroos is better at holding mid than Khedira but I don't know if Jogi agrees. The Bender brothers are both really good options as well.

The attacking mids are tricky because Muller hasn't been in great form this year. I think we'll probably see:

Poldi ----- Ozil ---- Gotze

Imagine being able to call on Muller, Reus and Schurrle from the bench. It's pretty cool to see Draxler named here.

Striker: Gomez probably deserves to start, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't Klose.

isn't Schurrle a striker? Jogi prefers Badstuber to Boateng at CB? I would probably play Hummels next to Boateng and Schmelzer at FB. Does he just prefer to play a CB on the left to shift when Lahm moves forward?

Schurrle will play both striker and attacking mid. He's a lot like Muller.

I picked Badstuber because I think he's more of a vocal guy than Boateng. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Boateng started over Badstuber, just my guess.

Howedes has played fullback for the national team in the past but he's obviously good enough to play in the middle as well.

If Jogi wants to play Lahm on the right, then Schmelzer may be the best option to play on the left. If you look at the qualifiers, it was basically a revolving door.
