Since the players only are covered by the CBA, then what covers the coaches? Aren't they employees of the owners who sign their checks? What gives Rog the authority to suspend SP or any coach. Or is he just making this up as he goes along (as dictators often do)?

I'm pretty sure by signing a contract they agree to be bound by NFL bylaws

the commish is an employee of the owners also. so, his authority comes from them.

I don't think there is a coaches union, They have mentioned that this could be the final straw in a push for this.

There is some sort of union or something, thats why in the Madden games, its never Bill Belichick, its NE Head Coach. He never joined the union.

They have an association, not a union. Kind of like your local board of realtors.

there is most certainly an NFLCA, but it is a very very weak group compared to the Players Union.

I understand that and that's what phelbman said... its nowhere near the caliber of union that players have.

I'm not a wizard here but seems like you are trying to differentiate the two because you are stuck on coaches association... when in turn... the Players Union is called NFLPA as well.... SO chew on that and let me know.
