don't be afraid to jump in and add some, we've been either making a case for one or debating among the potentials.

For Perriman I don't see how ya could make a case for him over Graham. 72 catches in 3yrs in NOLA. Graham surpassed that last year.

Turner a worthy 88 candidate with Jackson & Shockey

Well, I would never say Perriman over Graham. I was just seeing multiple entries, and like said, the WR's have always been my favorites, so I want to include them all.

Was Lonzell Hill with the 87's? I see it was just Horn, and rightfully so. Hill and Martin were fun to watch when I first started to seriously watch the Saints.

yo folks, 5 weeks!

uni link

35 is littered with the misfires (David Pittman), losers (Fakhir Brown), and washed up (Earl Campbell). Korey Hall who wears it now is no sure thing in making the roster. For the old as dirt Tiger I give you Jim Otis from the wayback machine.

He led Ohio St. in rushing every year starting, he was 7th in the 1969 Heisman voting, was voted to the Ohio St. All Century Team.

Looked like a decent pick for a 9th Rder (#218) and he was. Only problem is the bumbling front office of that era traded him away after one season for a 7th rd pick. He went on to have some solid years with STL even gaining over 1000yds one year and making the Pro Bowl. Another in a long line of examples of how bad the front office was in the Black Ages.

His son Jeff kicked around on some NFL practice squads from 2006-2009.

I couldn't think of any #35's either

SG is definitely our #37, but I don't want Mel Gray to go unnoticed. He returned a punt for a TD in my first ever Saints game.

I submit that Mel Gray might have the highest ratio of talent to little known-ness from Saints fans. Unfortunately he was the kinda player that NOLA would always let go- or couldn't keep. Was the premier KR of the day. Was voted on the All NFL 1990s team as returner. Led the league numerous times in many categories. All Pro 8 times. Voted #5 alltime returner on NFL network Top Ten show. Bad to the bone. Sadly had the most and biggest years for the Lions.

Didn't Mel Gray end up playing for Detroit for a good portion of his career?

And yeah, #35 was a tough one. I'd would have had to go with F. Brown too.

I also remember being pretty jacked at getting him also. We sent them J.T. O'Sullivan and a 2nd round draft pick in exchange and that pick later became Nick Collins

I'm glad everyone is getting more into this, but y'all have to put some more information with these picks...at least a name or something.

Since Greer also wore 32 and tomorrow is going to be limited to Greer, Ki-Jana Carter, Vaughn Dunbar and Antoine Smith, I'm saving Greer for #32 and going with hometown boy and pro bowler Tyrone Hughes.

Hughes is from St. Augustine High School in NOLA. Went to Nebraska and was drafted in the fifth round of the 1993 NFL Draft by the Saints. He played for Chicago in 97 and Dallas in 98.

He holds the NFL record for most kickoff return yards in a single game (304) and the most combined kickoff/punt return yards in a game (347). He also had 2 kick off returns for touchdowns in the same game which ties another NFL record.

He appeared in the pro bowl in 1993 and a 2nd Team All-NFL by the Associated Press and 1st Team All-NFL by the Pro Football Writers Association.

His career totals are 162 punt returns for 1411 yards and 2 touchdowns and 283 kick off returns (11th all time) for 6999 yards (11th all time) and 3 touchdowns.

In Saints history, he's tied for the lead in kick off return touchdowns and second in punt and kick off return touchdowns and yards.

He also played some corner back and had 58 tackles and 4 interceptions.
