You cant go wrong with Benchmade. I have several and have no complaints. I carried Spydercos in the past, but in my opinion, BM quality is much better. You can also use BMs Life Sharp program, which for $5 they will sharpen and service your knife.

I have a benchmade mini-griptillian that has been beat to hell and back a whole bunch and it's still in pretty good shape. No complaints. Isn't pretty anymore but the handle is still in good shape, everything is still tight, and it holds an edge very well. If you let it get too dull it is a mega bitch to sharpen though. Tool steel is hard as shite.

Can you find those things cheaper at a knife show or something? I want a mini griptillian. I always said I'd lose it, but I've been having the same gerber paraframe that I hate for 6 years and haven't managed to lose that one yet.

Bought mine with giftcards. No way I'd spend that much on a knife out of pocket. I've had mine for 6 years I believe. Get an $80 knife and you tend to leave it laying around less.

I hear ya. My buddy had a spyderco he bought at a knife show for like $40 or $50. Pretty damn good deal, but didn't come with a box or anything, just the knife. He lost it on a drunken night a few months later

Right now, I have been rocking the Spyderco Military for probably 2 years. S30V is harder than VG-10, holds an edge better, but is harder to sharpen.

I have had many other knives from multiple other manufacturers and this is one of my top 3.

G-10 handles are the way to go.

I get all of my stuff from a company called Knifeworks in Columbia, LA. Some of the cheapest knives on the internet and only take a day to get to me

Knife Works has good prices. The mini grips usually run $80-$90 depending on what configuration you get. Its been a while since I bought one so they may be more now. Also, you can go the BM website and custom build one.

That's why I prefer the VG-10. You barely ever need to sharpen it it's so hard, but at least you can. Generally all you ever need to do with it though is crock stick to clean it up.

I want to add that the Spyderco Military is easy to completely disassemble and reassemble. Just need 2 torx screwdrivers and you are set. The smaller one is used on basically every knife and you should already have the larger one in your toolbox. Taking them apart isnt the hard part, putting it all back together normally is

great knife but I would hate to spend that to lose it later. I tend to lose knives over the years.

Yeah I meant as your daily carry. You are correct. I still buy knives, but nothing is in competition with that one for the one that's on me always.

I might end up just buying a nice kershaw. I was also looking at crkt for a while.

I'm not sure what size I want though.
