My question would be and the interviewer hinted at but really just danced around it; "If protecting players was your #1 concern, and not making a name for yourself, why did you wait until this was a national story to release the audio?"

this. Also his dumbass line about ricky smoking pot infuriated me. Everyone knows he smoked weed. He was suspended for failing drug tests. that wasnt even close to the same thing as this debacle.

Anyone who has the self-bred narcissism to use a man with a terminal illness, just to sell his trust to the highest bidder is one of the lowest-lows of all humanity. The man is a deceiptful piece of gutter trash that embodies all that is wrong with journalism today.

How can he not realize why he is getting backlash?
in a bubble it has nothing to do with releasing the tape. I think everyone could live with that had the circumstances been different.
for him to abuse the power granted by the Saints to even been in the locker room is messed up. To abuse the special relationship the Saints and Gleason have for them to even be put in that position, is fricked up. That is the biggest reason people are mad. THe blatant betrayal after Gleason said he did not want it released.
On a smaller scale, telling people to "kiss his arse" that think he did it for personal gain. Who the frick is this guy think he is trying to kid?

His double-speak still doesn't make sense. Releasing the audio was "green-lit" and "not his solo call"? What does that mean? If not Gleason, then who? Fujita?
It still looks to me like the audio was released to help the players get lower suspensions by putting more of the blame on Williams. Pamphilon basically says as much. "I felt he threw those players under the bus and it simply wasn't right." So it isn't really because of some great moral burden he felt (which we knew anyway), but because he wanted lower suspensions for the players involved.
