He is a definite upgrade from Trent Johnson.

What could TJ do? He was an awful recruiter, he was an ordinary game day coach and he had very little passion for LSU. If Brady was Mike Archer (he did win the conference regular season twice and went to the final four ), the TJ was Hudson "Curly" Hallman.

Good part about TJ leaving is that we did not have to buy the remainder of his contract or whatever.

I think LSU basketball needs a fresh start and a fresh face.

Johnny Jones can be that. He is certainly a better recruiter, understands and loves LSU and I think he can be as good or better a gameday coach.

Lets forget despite the Lester Earl, NCAA witchhunt that did in Daddy Dale, even the NCAA could not find any wrongdoing and Lestet Earl later recanted his accusation.

So let us not make another JJ out of him.

How many times did Johnny Jones coached teams make it to the Sweet 16?

Do you recall the previous 4 seasons were all losing ones, and he would have gotten run regardless?

Zero.

How many times did he have the resources that he will have at LSU? How many coaches with a Sweet 16 on their resume wanted to come here?
