bad ideas. SEE: Rain, November.
I've always been a big GnR fan and love both UYI albums, but I HATE that song. A terrible attempted rip off of Funneral for a Friend / Love Lies Bleeding.

Axl is such an a-hole and makes it impossible for anyone to like him.

Appetite for Destruction on the other hand, is a rock classic and I listen to it still.

Axl is a control freak with bad ideas
Seems to be a popular opinion and I don't really know how people can say this. Axl made GNR what they were: He was the volatile element that made them more than just another Sunset Strip hair band.

He's to fat to show up and his voice is completely shot. Just trying to cover it by being a dick.

No izzy had the songwriting ability that turned an other wise self destructive clusterfrick full of primadonnas into an international rock n roll powerhouse

Can somebody cliff note the problem for me? How exactly did Axl and Slash end up so estranged? Not spoken in 18yrs? damn.
Simple... Slash>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>AXL.

Uh, Izzy had a massive drug problem too, if that's what you mean by self destructive. Far more than Axl and probably even Slash.
Axl gave GNR their swagger: He was the source of their angry and raw, but also occasionally sentimental and vulnerable, style and sound. He is what really set GNR apart from all the other faceless "Heavy Metal" bands of the 80's, IMO.

Without the songs axle is just another wannabe rock star. Izzy provided the most important piece of the equation. The songs

some more passive-aggressive behavior from a douchebag who hasn't figured out that he hasn't been relevant in 15+ years...big surprise.

C'mon. Izzy's non-GNR stuff is a snooze fest. Almost as bad as Axl's "New" GNR.

Are you kidding me?
Izzy and the ju ju hounds isn't as good as gmt in their prime but its miles beyond anything any other member has put out post gnr

Not really saying much
Not denying Izzy is a talented musician and song writer, and I'm not saying he wasn't an integral part of GNR. But his solo and Ju Ju Hounds stuff is, IMO, nothing more than serviceable blues rock, with all the panache of a piece of cardboard. There is just nothing interesting about it.
Saying Axl wasn't an important part of what made GNR great is like saying Ian Curtis wasn't an important part of what made Joy Division great.

Gnr was a perfect storm of the time but any member of that band could've been replaced and it still would've been great. Any member with the exception of izzy because in the end what made Gnr great was their exceptional songs and when izzy left so did those songs and he proved to everyone just how much he brought to that band.
If axl was so great why didn't chinese democracy take off like it should have?

There some great songs on there, most of them Izzy's tracks, lots of filler, take the best stuff from both and it would be right there with Appetite.

Look, I've understood Izzy's importance for 20 years and knew it was over once he left, but you being disingenuous to not give Axl any credit. They needed each other for the band to work, unfortunately it was too volatile, mostly because Axl is well, a dick.

Dude, that's really a terrible standard. That album came out in what 2010, way too long for anyone to care and also not a fresh sound.
