Absolute slaying for two straight hours, broke in my Lews super speed spool and Falcon Bucoo rod pretty well
Caught over 100 total on rattle traps and a slab

Were at? I don't keep them due to they taste like shite with the red meat in them. But still fun to catch on lite tackle.

Pat Mayse Lake in Lamar County. I usually don't keep them either, but I had a big cookout with some buddies of mine and when you get a bunch of guys together with a bunch of alcohol they aren't bad at all. And I could leave my crappie in the freezer for another day

I think they taste pretty good just trim off the red meat before eating.

Hybrid striper, bar fish, white bass etc

A hybrid is half sandy.
But yeah, the most common other name I've heard for them is white bass.

They are good. Tip: Soak em in Louisiana hot sauce, before you meal and fry. Try it, thank me later.

Goths... Always heard them called bar fish or white bass

I've heard of a lot of people catching them like that at the mouth of Thompson Creek where it hits the Mississippi. If I knew how to get there and at what water lever, I'd love to go catch some of them.

Hybrids are much different. They get big and are strong as an ox.

Yeah... a 6 lb hybrid will fight like a 12 lb striper.

Always heard 35' is prime time to fish there. Never done it and will never run my boat south of the new bridge in St.Francisville.
We wear Bar fish out every year. About a two week span me and some buddies catch a couple hundred each and fill our freezers ( Not at Thompson Creek though)

If you are talking "White Bass", then let people keep telling you they don't taste good.
I'll eat them every time. Just have to clean them properly.
We fried Bass, Trout and White Bass a few weeks ago and the White Bass were better hands down.
They had 10 people there and we didn't tell them what trays were what fish. Everyone liked and ate all the White Bass first.
I can't wait to get some more from Toledo Bend.
