I've noticed that there are some, albeit few, people who share my tastes on this board. I like complex melodic rock, metal, some punk, and hardcore stuff. I'll try to post new bands that people may not have heard of from time to time. I've been jamming these over the last few days.
Hands Like Houses- A Clown and His Pipe
Seahaven- Head in the Sand (Blinding Son)
I the Mighty- The Dreamer

All of these are a bit more on the hardcore side of your music, but I saw them in the sidebar, so I guess that they're relatively similar. I've been into We Came as Romans, Alesana, and I See Stars recently. They all have songs that cover a pretty broad range, from very post-hardcore to more melodic tunes.

the second one was pretty cool - ever listen to Every Time I Die?? one of my faves

They're not entirely new, but rogue wave is really good. Check out the song lake Michigan.

DISCLAIMER: This is not me downing on a complete genre, nor am I attempting to flame your taste in music. This is simply my impression of the music.
All the double bass in the world can't cover up the fact that the lead singer masturbated to Fall Out Boy and Panic At The Disco in high school. He uses the same vocal progressions which, while not bad and they do show talent, they've been copied ad nauseum by every emo band since "dance, dance" was released.
Sounds a bit closer to post-punk, with a definite "beach" vibe that's reminiscent of some Incubus. DEFINITELY reminds me of some of Lifetime's (relatively hard to find) slower stuff. A bit vanilla for my tastes however.
Emo... More so than Hands Like Houses. I'm talking guy-liner, rooster hair, and "slitting your wrists because the girl in your high-school with flat-ironed hair and blacked out eyes doesn't like you" emo. Very interesting musically though. Lots going on.
This selection makes me beg the question, is emo making a comeback?

I sure hope EMO doesn't make a comeback.
I am not sure what you mean by complex melodic rock. I would highly suggest you check out Isis LINK , cause it falls under that categeory IMO.
Metal is right up my alley, not matter the type. I can talk about it all day.
I will say that Hands Like Houses and I the Mighty aren't terrible, but I see the EMO correlation. Seahaven remind of of the post-alternative sound from the late 90s.
Others I have named in other threads I'll name again for conversations sake.
Russian Circles LINK
Mastodon LINK
In Flames LINK
To name a few of my favorites.
