The Giants are the 1st team to ever make the SB while being outscord during the reg season. WOW. How the game has changed. SCREW FREE AGENCY. Yes I am old school.

Are you a liberal by any chance? How is allowing a player to make as much money as possible in the open free market a bad thing? I do agree with you about how watered down the NFL has become though. It's been particularly bad over the past six seasons with all these 9-7 teams and Wild Card teams making it to or winning the Super Bowl.

Edit: And the salary cap is a lot more responsible for the increased parity/mediocrity in today's NFL than free agency is.

This is the second meeting between the Pats and Giants this season
The first meeting? November 6th
Now they meet for the championship

LSU and Alabama played twice
First meeting? Novemer 5th
Then they played in the BCSCG

This will have no effect on the game at all just thought it was a crazy coincidence.

ETA Free agency was great for the league

Look it up. Get a paper from the last week of the season. Do some homework.

That depends on how old you are. Bob Griese threw only 7 passes in SB #8. Tell me that will happen again.

You made the claim so back it up.

And what does that have to do with anything? The talent level has been increasing every single season the level and depth of quarterback play is at highest since the late 80's, early 90's.

CORRECT. If ITS PARITY thye NFL wanted, They got it. There are MAYBE ten NFL qb's that are a QUALITY QB. FACT.

I won't disagree with this. BUT HEY LETS NOT have a preseason cause we are a greedy bunch of players. Like I said I am OLD SCHOOL. The quality play of the NFL has fallen off BIG TIME since like the mid 90's.

NFL quarterback play the last 5 seasons is at the highest it's ever been.

I can tell how young you are by this post. NO OFFENSE but you don't know shite about the history of the NFL.

REALLY?? Based On what????

AGAIN REALLY??? Based on what. Face it the game has changed. For young folks that have not seen every SB, YEA. But for someone who has I can give you an argument about how some the earliar SB's were some GREAT Football.

There is a rEASON for this. And its taken away from the fabric this game was founded on. Like I said QB play isn't everything and if you go back and look at how the NFL has evolved since the SB started, you may get a better appreciation for the game.

Why does it matter he only threw 7 passes? I wouldn't want that to happen again. That sounds pretty boring. And yes, I'm not 450 years old, but that doesn't mean I don't know anything.

Reality.

Reality again. You don't know what anyone else knows about the history of the NFL. You just assume that since you are old and prefer a boring 1957 game, that everyone else should. If they don't they don't know anything about the game to you.

And where exactly in this thread did you state this?

I have, which is why I appreciate the game more now than at any other point in its history.

Thats how WINNING teams played BACK then. Was it Boring?? aT THE TIME . no. It was one team dominating another even though they had almost the same talent as they had the year before. Back then you had the same guys on a team for like 8-10 years. When you can dominate another team when they have the same type players, its pretty cool. BUT AGAIN. I can't help that the game has changed so much over the years. I just don't think the SB has as much luster as it used to. BTW In THAT game Csonka carried the ball 33 times for 145 yds. TELL me a back that could do that in TODAYS GAME.

Adrian Peterson, Michael Turner, Arian Foster, matt forte, frank gore, marshawn lynch, Maurice Jones drew. I'm pretty sure most of those guys could rush 30+ times in a game. Its really not unheard of. Maybe Chris Johnson could too

So tell me the last time ANY of these guys did it even once. Let alone three or four times a year. Come on Machine. You are better than this.
