Don't be surprised if you don't hear anything at all. The wait after an interview is the worst part of it.

i usually get hired on the spot but this last one i waited a month and a half. didnt think i was getting the job and they called me out of the blue. really just depends on how desperate they are to fill a position i guess.

You're waiting, too? Hope we're not after the same job.

Yeah it depends. I have waited a day, a week, and for my current job i had a phone interview, an interview 2 weeks later, then another interview a week after where they offered me the job and the OT high life.e

Have only interviewed for two jobs. The first one, I had an offer during the first interview. The second, it was 3 days before they offered me. Both were single interviews.

You're still likely in the possible zone. Due to travel schedules, it usually takes me a week or more to conduct the second round of interviews. A prospective employee might wait as long as two weeks to hear back.

As a prospective employee myself, I once didn't hear back for four weeks, but was offered the job.

I find the larger the company (Coca Cola, Budweiser, ATT ect.) the longer the wait. Even if you did not get the job they will get back to you with some stupid corporate email explaining you are no longer considered a candidate and blocked from their online application service for 3 months.

Depends on the company,I did interviews at school for the first round. the job I ended up taking got back to me about a week or so after my first and second interviews. Another took about a month and a half after the first interview to get back to me.
As said before, big companys will eventually get back to you, if it's a small company, I'd call or email them after a week our so.

I once heard back 2 and half months later after the second round of interviews. Usually its 1-2 weeks between 1st and 2nd round. It's a slow process. I followed up every other week after the second interview, still took them 10 weeks.

re: How long is normal to wait to hear back after interviewing for a job?

For my internship, it was about 3 days I think. I emailed the contact 2 days after and thanked them for the opp and said I hoped they were able to get the person they wanted. They said they did and offered.

My first job I had an on campus interview and was invited for am office visit the next day. I was offered at the visit at the end.

My current job they also offered before I left the office interview.

I guess it depends on the type of job and their situation. I would definitely reach out to them, if only to thank them and wish them luck on their search.

re: How long is normal to wait to hear back after interviewing for a job?

well my second interview with them was not last Wed. but the Wed. before that and I mailed them a thank you card that Friday. So I can't send them an email saying "it was nice to meet you, thanks for meeting with me" because i've already said that in the letter. So I guess really the only thing I could email them about is to straight up ask if they have hired anybody yet. But that seems a little forward, huh?

Maybe something like

hello (bill)/(mr. Smith),

I hope this message finds you well. I am interested to know how your search for a candidate for the xx position is progressing. I would be happy to discuss any further inquiries you might have regarding my interest in the position, if such a meeting would align with your schedule and would assist in the process. Once again, it was a pleasure meeting you, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best regards,
Da Tiger

Something isn't too pushy, but let's them know you are eager to hear back and are proactive about it.

The subtelty depends on your situation (still actively looking, already employed and less desperate, etc.)
