When people from Louisiana stop being ok with being portrayed as ignorant people. Sure you're cashing in but it doesn't help with the reputation.

you would be wrong about that. A lot of streams in N Louisiana have Bayou in their names. The S. Louisiana myopia is strong in this thread.

I'm out here in Palm Springs, but just off the top of my head - Bayou Dorcheat (NW), Bayou Macon (NE) and Bayou Desiard (Monroe) in north Louisiana.
And Cross Bayou from Caddo Lake to the Red River in Shreveport.
Just googled the title and guess the referral is to a new reality TV version of Beverly Hillbillies. Louisiana may have its share of Rednecks, but I can find just as many here in Southern California, especially out in the desert areas.
