So you admit Bammers live in the past. LSU owns the present.

Over 30 and we've dominated you most of my entire adult life. So has Auburn actually.

Outland Trophy winning tackle for Bama say that although many of the players are looking at this game as "revenge", he sees it more as "RESTORING ORDER"!

I along with many others have said all along that the rematch is incredibly disrespectful towards LSU. I have been critisized by some other tiger fans on this board that by saying that "I'm whining"

Im just wondering....do those same tigers fans now agree that this comment by Jones is disrespectful to LSU?

If you dont think it is .....I say your deaf dumb and blind

Know what else was true 30 years ago? THA BAHR was still alive.

The last thang THA BAHR saw when he was alive on the sidelines was an LSU Victory 20-10 in Birmingham and THA BAHR said that was the worst whuppin he could ever remember one of his Teams taking the kind like when his Dad took him out behind the woodshed and he said that is what you call a woodshed whuppin!

Rush forward to now 2012 30 years later Saban will take the worst whippin he has ever taken. Miles will continue to bring order to the overall record that was heavy toward Bama 30 years ago now 30 years order is starting to take form that got it's start with the new century of 2000 and the very reason Bama Fans keep bringing up when THA BAHR and now it is THE MAD HATTER!

By the way I am not in the 10-30yrs old group I remember back when but I also see what is happening NOW!

I totally agree with this...Florida since Spurrier has more of a claim of owning the SEC....now owning Rogers Redding and his circus sideshow of SEC officials is another thing entirely...

what is with the Gumps...all they're doing is providing great bulletin board material...

two more questions...who's got the better disciplined team? do you hear any stuff like this coming out of baton rouge?

Here is what THA BAHR said and the Honor given to that LSU Team 30 years ago.

quote:

1982 Shut-down of Bear Bryant's last offense – LSU defeated Alabama 20–10 at Birmingham during Bear's last game against LSU – Bear retired a month later, at end of season, {& died two months later} but during his post-game interviews, Coach Bryant acknowledged LSU's defense as being so impressive as for him to call that game "an old-fashioned butt-whipping" after LSU's Defense had held 'Bama to just 80-yards of total offense, lowest offensive production in 'Bama history. Later that week, LSU's defensive front seven of Melancon & Joiner {OLB}, Marshall, Elko & Dardar {DL}, Richardson & Williams {ILB} were named "AP Sportswriters' Defensive Player of the Week", first time an entire front-seven unit was so named.

You should know that we were on probation including massive scholarship reductions early in the decade. CLM is 3-2 vs Saban. This game will either solidify LSU's recent success or say "game on" and "give us the trophy".

I think it is interesting that it's been more 30 years since Alabama was dominating the SEC, and some Bama fans still think that it is the natural order. Alabama had success before Bryant but wasn't dominant before and hasn't been since. They are simply part of the top tier. They have been out of the dominant mode for longer than they were in it. The "natural order" is much more like it has been over the period without Bryant, constant shifting and temporary prominence rotating through the top tier.

Ha I heard a radio spot the other day asking Bama fans to come to the Gulf Coast. It was something about a hotel and shuttle package with access to the "victory" party. Come celebrate Bama's 14th National Championship!

Victory? really?

he was healthy last time.

Unless you count his performance of acting hurt as a real injury.

I see nothing wrong with what he said.

Barret Jones knows his place as a player/fan of Alabama football.

In their mind, they are on top of the SEC. They never lose. The fact that they are playing in the NC game despite finishing third in the conference only reinforces this mentality. All Barret has to do is put on ESPN, or read any CFB media publication to have his feelings validated. After all, they didn't lose November 5th.

quote:

No comment reveals the attitude of the Bama faithful any more than this, which seems to indicate that they/he feels entitled to the Championship rather than having to earn it.

Bingo. And if they win January 9th, they win it all. LSU gets the finger. Bama's players understand this as well. They know they were gifted a nice Mulligan just because they don Crimson on Saturdays and have Saban as their coach.

I bet Barrett has become well acquainted with the term "quality loss" as well.

For those of you touting LSU's dominance the last decade plus over Bama, think about this: All Bama has to do is win January 9th and none of this matters. At this point in time, the "game of the century" is irrelevant as well.

Only one thing for LSU to do....

Rebeat Bama again in the 2012 Mulligan Bowl.

In the last 4 yrs Bama is 12-0, 12-0, 10-3, and 11-1 in regular season play. Only 4 SEC losses in 4 years. I would say we're dominating league play right now. Order IS being restored. One more game to show the world won't hurt though.

I don't either, as a fan you want your players to be passionate about their team, program.

My enjoyment is watching the average Bubba Gump react to it. I doubt most were born when Bama was dominant in the SEC.
