I would much rather a seafood market tell me they don't have any and offer me another product than lie to my face and tell me this shite I am buying is from Vensulaya. Just bought $300 worth of crap. The mgr swears it is from their plant in chalmette, and they had to put it in different containers because the ice broke the lids. Get home and figure out it is from Vensulaya, call him back and he says sorry for the misunderstanding.

Tell me you don't have what I want and loose a customer today, lie to me and loose a customer for ever.

Yeah, I am mad

If I'm buying $300 of crabmeat I'm going to smell it. How did you find out it was from Vuvuzela?

I'm not giving you shite about a typo. I really had no idea whether Vensulaya was a place or a company. That sucks that he lied about the quality of the crab. What are you doing with $300 of crab meat?

Regardless, I guess your boy has a DNA lab at his house that tests for Venetian crabs.

300 dollars not pounds, and it was about 200 worth of crab and 100 worth of shrimp. (the shrimp are fine ....I think), making my annual seafood gumbo, and crab dip tomorrow

How did I find out? All the lids had been replaced with blank plastic covers and half arse taped on, he gave some bs story about lids being damaged, I knew something was fishy but thought he was trying to pass pasteurized crabmeat for fresh. Then the guy is nice enough to pack all the seafood in a styrofoam packing box with ice for me, when I get home I see the styrofoam container is from Venezuela and was shipping crabmeat, so I call the guy and he then admits to it

Bad part is I called earlier in the week and ordered it and was very specific about what I wanted, yes shame on me I should of investigated more thourghly but I phucked up and took someone for their word

Nah man. I was just giving you shite. That does suck. But in the end you should still have good product if it was handled properly. I mean it's clearly frozen, but most local product is "fresh frozen" as well. Venezuela exports a shite ton of blue crab to New York and even Maryland.

I'd expect more from my fishmonger too.

I only buy my seafood from Gulf Net Seafood. Always a good experience there.

I ate there last week, really enjoyed it.

During crawfish season, we usually pick up 40 lbs every Friday, about 20 potatoes and 20 corn and 2 lbs of boiled shrimp.

Man don't you know anything at all? NEVER and I do mean never buy anything with tampered containers.
Why didn't you return it?
Followed by a call to the LA Dept of Health.

Personally I would go with rock salt and a .410.
