they're building it on campus by the baseball stadium. trying to replicate a stadium like at Southern Miss (30K). Glazer family(tampa bay bucs/Manchester united) donated a shite load to have it built. must be nice to have that family as your neighbor(they live right next to tulane, across from cowen's house).

also, they're "supposed" to join the Big XII....don't understand that move like the rest of their athletic department but whatever

ETA: sorry, no link but i know some people close to the situation.

ETA: im honestly questioning the move to the BIGXII but apparently its really happening. Im confused and not believing it just as you're reading it but its happening.

I mean hey, San Diego state is joining the BIG EAST for christ sake....my WTF moment is pretty non existent this year in College football.

a rebuilt tad gormley would make more sense for everyone... tulane, uno, and high schools could play there

this one looks like it's going to be used 6 times per year

When will be the Big 12 announcement?

I have a bet with a buddy that it wouldn't be before the New Year

A 30K stadium and joining the Big 12 do on fit well together.

Why can't high schools play in this stadium?

And the point for Tulane is to get a stadium on campus. They'd have the same problem at Gormley that they have at the superdome now.

They need to make it as easy as possible to get people in the stadium.

Have heard all the same things.

Part of what took Tulane so long to hire a coach (besides being turned down by some people) was they were running things through the Big 12 regarding possibilities.

One of the reasons why Leach was never really an option.

Gormley is slightly farther from campus than the Dome is, but without easy access to the street car and nightlife.

With Gormley?

A lot, like size and the fact that CUSA won't allow us to play conference games there because the facilities are inadequate for a college program.

You think Tulane building a new stadium makes them attractive place to go now?
