Damn these stereotypes... O well, it's the path I've chosen.

First Hunt with my new rifle over our Christmas Break when I was a freshman in high school. Been chilling in the stand for about an hr admiring my new .308 when I hear that beautiful sound of a stick breaking. I look up to see a pretty 6pt totally entranced in our food plot. I get the shakes and don't take a minute to calm down so I missed horribly. Here's the crazy thing(and what most wont believe), this deer is so confused by what has happened and so ready to get out of there he hauls arse out of the lane and head first into a full grown pine. I hear the bitches neck snap and he goes limp. I walk over still confused. I get all excited when I check the deer and confirm he is done. Then I realize that I have dead deer with zero bullet holes. I drag over a stump to kind of prop him up and step back about 20 yrds and sent one through the non-beating heart. Take the stump back to where it was and start dragging the deer down the trail. Dad meets me shortly after to see what all the shooting was for. Told him I missed the first one and the dummy came back. Have yet to tell the truth to a single person in my family.
