Yeah it seems funny but almost every wounded deer experience I have had at some points results to the god forsaken noise those things make and I hate that and it's probably pretty brutal...also to drown one would put me in range of their horns/back legs which= no good

I haven't shared this one. When I was about 18, I got out of my stand cause it was windy. Went scouting in some brush by a clear cut. Saw a huge doe walking briskly about 150 yards away so I took a shot at her. She went down but got back up and ran down the hill. Got up to her and she was just sitting there. She wouldn't move...I was about 10 yards away from her and she was just staring at me. I had no clue what to do. I felt horrible. Noticed I shot a chunk of her hind quarter out. I thought the best thing to do (I was young and stupid) was to take a big stick and hit her over the head...like that would kill her. I tried that, the stick broke, she screamed and ran another 100 yards or so. I was so disgusted with myself. After this went on another few hundred yards, I just shot her in the head from about 20 yards. That is the only thing I have ever killed that I felt bad about. Should have just finished her off the first time.

Now that I just typed all that, I realize this is not even close to a csb or cds.

I shot a deer one time with my .270 at 30yds with blastic tip bullets. Hit it a little too far back because my scope was off. I guess I bumped it somewhere along the way. Turned and ran 10 yards into the woods where it got tangled in an old barbwire fence. The bullet blew most of the guts out into the trail and the deer promptly expired but not before screaming its lungs out. That sounds still haunts me.

I shot a doe running and gut shot her.

I went to find her and she was laid up in a creek and couldn't get up the other bank. I shot her in the head and the whole creek turned red. It was a pretty nasty scene.

Might be my favorite sentence in English, ever.

Here's one with zero humor, but kinda cool.

Won a lottery hunt on Red River or Three River-cannot recall. Mung was probably there. Heck, I think he won the hunt.

Anyway, we killed a greenhead with a transmitter attached to its back. I called the number on it, or the band. Talked to a biologist in Saskatoon Saskatchewan. Turns out, they use those for a botulism study. If the receiver loses touch with the transmitter, it is presumed that the duck lived. Lots of transmitters means bad botulism.

That's a long flight.

Not one that cares about bands, so I really don't know.

God, I hate that noise. First deer I ever shot, I was with my dad and I shoot a button buck a little high and back. He drops, picks his head up, lets out that moan, and dies. Then his mom comes running out and in to another patch of woods. WTF dad. You let me shoot bambi.
