Last year Bama's excuse was how many starters they lost on defense and how many young starters they had as replacements. This year the media said the same about LSU's defense being too young and having to replace PP7 and others. I always thought Bama's excuse was a weak one when they had McElroy, Jones and Ingram on offense.

So if you compare last years Bama Defense with this years LSU Defense it is quite obvious LSU has done a much better job with recruiting and coaching this years defense.

For this reason alone I'm very confident we win on Nov. 5th. If we don't, next year will be a tremendous year for LSU. I just think this years LSU team is much better than last years Bama team with the a similar amount of young players on defense.

Congrats to our coaches and players for the hard work they put in getting ready for Oregon and this year.

LSU has more talent and depth this year on both sides of the ball.

Bama fans will simply tell you to look at the stats. However, they may be leading most of the defensive categories, but LSU is not far behind. Close enough that there really isn't a significant difference.

I think people should stop comparing the 2 defenses to each other. They wont ever be on the field at the same time. How bout we compare which offense will actually be able to move the ball against each others awesome defense. That answer is still clearly LSU because I think bama's offense is one deminsional (richardson)

Per game averages

Bama Pass Offense - 228
Bama Rush Offense - 229

You were saying Bama is one dimensional? They generate almost 50yds more pass offense per game than LSU.

Do we really have to go over the whole starting field position explanation again?

That's not the point, guys. How strong the competition was has nothing to do with the point the Gump gentleman was making. It was about balance. If a team plays better competition it doesn't mean their balance would change.

We've played and beat 4 top 25 teams. Alabama's played 2 plus a couple of high schools.

Last weekend, a friend asked me (when we were watching the Auburn game with the other LSU alums) what would I do if we beat Alabama like that. My response - "I'll get nekkid!"

My local grocer that I use, Publix, is a big Bama supporter. He really came apart last year when they lost. I am worried for him this year.

Bama's D is #1 in the country
LSU's D is #3

Bama's O is ~#23 in the country
LSU's O is ~#75

Game is at Bama.

Sounds like LSU is done.
