Not sure what is so fricking stupid about it. If I'm making something with cubes of meat it will more than likely be a stew. Or beef tips. Not a stupid fricking chili made out of cubed meat.

I have the same texture preference as Mr. Balls. I want the meat ground, whatever type of meat there is. No cubes and no shreds. Chili meat is okay, but I want some fine ground mixed in that.

Make sure the dry seasonings you use are fresh. I like beer in mine and a little unsweetened chocolate.

AND, NO BEANS FOR ME.

I'd bet you'd be a stew convert if Balls ever fed you...you might even buy a shotgun, hunting license and some camo.

I like stew

I just think that the implication is that cubed beef belongs only in a stew and not in a chili is one that is based out of ignorance.

That's the way chili is traditionally made though

Cling to your shitty ground beef chili if you must

Fixed it. And, I'd bet that the lagest majority of chili prepared in this country is with ground meat, not cubed. Had it both ways...fixed it both ways...I prefer ground meat texture.

My implication was I like ground meat chili. It was based out of preference. Kind of like you prefer a piece of shite cube meat chili. As you said, to each his own.

I'm not much of a measurer with chili, OG. I'll guess maybe an ounce or so to each pound of meat. Sometimes, I use unsweetened chocolate bars or Hershey's dry unsweetened cocoa. You can use semi sweet if you like a little sweetness.

This thread is surprisingly hostile. It feels like a gumbo method conversation.

ETA: I like ground meat in mine

Next time you make a gallon or so, try the Hershey bar instead. You'll see many recipes add a T or so of sugar to cut any bitterness...this gets that job done and supplies the hint of chocolate, too.It won't be sweet, I promise.

Full size Hershey bar or bite size? I've never heard of this but I'm intrigued
