Just purchased a Sahara to replace my old terrible reel and was looking for suggestions on a good rod to pair with it.

Are there any rods that could be hybrid inshore (spec and redfish)/ freshwater (largemouth)? I know I'll be sacrificing in one of the categories but just curious.

If not, what are some good suggestions for individual rods? I know falcon coastal for inshore but what about freshwater?

A coastal could do just fine for both.

I always go longer. My lone spinning set up is a 7'6" rod and I couldn't complain. Check out a Star Stellar Lite fast taper rods.

Star Stellar Rod Series

I have caught everything from bass, catfish, specks, reds, mackerel, bluefish, small mangroves and even a bonita on that rod. The one I have is the 7'6" 8-17lb Med(fast). It handles it all beautifully. Star rods are primarily known as offshore rods, but I recommend them for inshore or bass as well. I primarily use it as my popping cork rod when inshore and the longer rod increases my casting distance for sure which can make a difference with trout especially.

For freshwater, I usually use it as a topwater rod and it serves me well.

If you like split grip/EVA handles, then the falcon bucoo could be a good choice too.

Whatever you get, for salt and freshwater double duty I'd suggest a 7' rod with a medium action.

Carrot Stick, Salty Stick Inshore rod. I use mine for exactly what you describe and love it.

I had two and both of them broke at the tip. Sucks, because I really liked them when they were whole.

This is why you buy rods that academy keeps in stock. They all have the chadboy lifetime warranty, no receipt necessary.

Yeh I lost the graphite insert to my tip last time I fished but it was fixable. So far that's the only problem I've had.

If you're spending $100+ on a fishing rod, they are all good. Like most in this thread, I prefer Falcon, but thats mostly what Iv'e used for a while now. I have the Coastal which I love, and a MH Falcon Original with some great backbone for some bigger fish. As long as you take care of it and watch your step, you should be alright with any brand.
