Why do you nit witts always look at it as people selling stuff from their collections? That's not the issue that myself or the other people are speaking about. Yes everyone that collects sells items as they loose intrest/want new items/ etc. thats not the issue. The issue is people buying Limited items just to try and turn a profit while preventing other fans the same chance. The other issue is when these limited items are posted on a board, a certain someone deletes the post so no one knows about it so he can sell the 30 he purchased for $20 for $200 a pop. I think its pathetic regardless what you spend your profits on
The Helmets you speak of were advertised as what they were. They were not game used nor were they marketed as such. I was able to get a few and asked fellow members of another board if they wanted any. I would pick them up for them and they could meet in in BR as I was down there for work. I provided the receipt for what I paid for them and thats what they paid. I made nothing off of them as I was just trying to help out other collectors. pics were sent as well as they were inspected before they took ownership and no one was forced to buy anything. It didn't make a difference to me if they wanted any or not.I was getting one and just like the pants earlier, I posted my find if anyone was interested. I still have the one I purchased from that "Lot" in my game room as well as a game used one from 2010, and one from a few years prior.
This thread is def hijacked and way off the original topic as Greg does have a great collection. I just don't agree with the choir boy notion.

You kids are crazy
And I agree with the people mad at the "collectors" who actually collect a few and sell alot for an outrageous profit

I miss this one. Did you restore it in any fashion? I just found out my cousin got 3 of them many years ago with the full stool intact. They were in great shape (relative to their age), with the original high quality brass stools still attached.

I have been collecting auto's since the 1960's and have many very hard to find LSU autographs including 2 players form the 1st LSU team. I also have copies of all the 1908 team autographs to place in the book.
Autograph collecting has been part of sports since the late 1860's and before that when talking stage acting.
Selling autographs be it LSU players to which ever field you care to name has gone on since way before all of us were born.
Greg has a great collection, as do many LSU fans. The LSU sports muesum was started because of one of the great collectors of LSU items. He collected some autographs of players also.
LSU has a fan day for all to take pictures and get autographs.
There will always be users in any field, and always buyers. LSU collecting has gone though the roof in the last 12 years. I was offered in 1983 all the 1958 home programs with tickets for $70, today you will not touch that price. Many buy and get autoraghs today just to sell later. There is nothing that can be done on thse lines.
