Kragthorpe is going to be in every huddle, every play call and in the press box.

Yes, folks, that is a direct quote from Les Miles that can be found on ESPN at this link:

quote:
"I feel very comfortable in the direction we're going," Miles said. "This promotion for Greg gives us reason to not miss a beat and to continue on. First, Kragthorpe is going to be in every huddle, every play call and in the press box. He will assist fully with game plan and the passing game will be called with him and (receiver's coach) Billy Gonzales's thumb on it. Coach Studrawa will understand how to get it done.

I know it is for me and you, but somehow people still think it will be like "Malveto."

This was my thought after hearing everything. I think this is more or less being done as a safety net. Probably at this point they may not know how the disease will advance. By making this announcement now publicly, Stud can take over the playcalling and OC duties very quietly during the season if Krags condition advances to the point that it effects his duties.

Entirely too logical for the rant. Get that shite outta here. LSU is now the cfb version of the Titanic. Abandon ship man...
Fwiw, I think you are spot on

Very different situation. Ive gotta a better feeling about this move.
I think steve can concentrate on coaching up the qb' s.
Maybe its a blessing in disguise.
ETA, the blessing not being steve' s illness,
But rather him staying on as qb coach.

I just read that now with out a OC, we have to go back to sand lot football rules and draw plays in the dirt with a stick with JJ calling all the plays!
Posted on 8/4/11 at 7:59 pm to oneg8rh8r
I heard the program was so broke and in disarray that they couldn't even afford the stick.

To begin to think we have a "committee" calling the play is ludicrous!

I kind of like that.

I'm amazed at the number people who want to see Krags get a pay cut. People, you need to think longer term here. We are going to be hiring coaches every year for the foreseeable future. Cutting a current coach's pay because of some personal misfortune they suffered would not ordinarily be considered "best practice."
