why in the world would he do that? Either he has Saban genes and Bama is going to pay him an unreal amount of $$$$$ to stay OR

something is not right at LSU

This doesn't make any sense.

I assume Bama threw something heavy at him. After everything he said about Girourd yesterday, and her being integral to him coming here, it's certainly very odd.

I just mean, who does this? Who goes to the presser and accepts the job and then backs out on a Sunday? Total POS.

That is what baffles me. If there had been "discussion" about him becoming HC and then he backed out fine. But to show up and accept at the presser and talk all this shite about where the direction he wants to take LSU and then back out...below the belt...

I was working for a radio station in Columbia, SC when Bobby Cremins left GT for the USC job, only to back-out the next day. That town flipped it's shite.

One TV station actually broke into an episode of Wheel of Fortune to announce it, then they left the sports anchors mic open after they went back to Wheel of Fortune. About 2 seconds after the Wheel comes back on the anchor, very clearly, says "un-fricking believable".

It was hilarious.

What a little POS. Does that mean the female asst coach coming with him is backing out too, or will she join our staff?

I never felt that great about this. I don't respect a coach who goes to a divisional rival when he has had good success. And if I were a Bama fan I would not feel all that great about this either since they had to buy him back.

You just KNEW that Alleva was going to get burned soon, after The Advocate wrote that puff piece on him on Saturday.

Don't be surprised if they threw something other than money. Bama boards were making some veiled allusions as to why he was single, and it being easier to "be who you are" in South Louisiana compared to North Alabama.

Just sayin'...

I don't want anything to be wrong on our end- when business deals fall through usually the other side offered more money OR something has not been truthful, forthcoming or a misrepresentation on our side.

Why do posters want Alleva to fail? Seems contrary to being an LSU fan.

The only way Joe comes out of this without egg on his face is if he hires, for longer than a 24 hour period, one of the other top school coaches.

And those coaches will be loving it considering that they now have the power position.
