ESPN Insider Chat:

Q: A story broke about Jim Buss coming out and saying that Bynum is "untouchable" in any trade talks. From what you've heard, is this true?

Ric Bucher: The Lakers seem to have slipped on Dwight's list for reasons beyond that. I'd rank his preferences in this order: Orlando, Dallas, Jersey, Lakers. But for Orlando to keep him, they're going to have to make some serious deals, ones that I'm really doubtful they can pull off.

League is fuuuuucked.

The way Bynum played in the playoffs makes him untouchable...Pau looks like he could be the one dealt

a while back I heard that Cuban said that Hot Rod was untouchable

the term untouchable is thrown around too much in the NBA

once upon a time the Warriors said Ike Diogo was untouchable...

I'd rather Dallas get the other big unrestricted 2012 free agent.

:keege:

the Cavs said JJ Hickson was untouchable when they went after Amare last yr. I'd have pulled the trigger.

Love your Livingston sig pic.
You almost need to add him as the Idaho Stampede head man!

Both Kidd and Terry are unrestricted free agents in 2012 too.
Paul can replace Kid's dime drops and Terry's scoring.

They can re-sign Barea, who is a restricted FA to permanently replace Terry as the sixth man.

They will also need to resign Tyson and Carron, if the new CBA allows it.

Heywood will already still be there to team with tyson.

and Miami had nothing to trade to Cleveland either but they dealt.

quote:

The Heat sent Cleveland two first-round draft picks and two second-round picks, as well as a large trade exception, for James. The first-round picks could be between 2013 and 2017. The second-round picks are in 2012 (acquired from New Orleans) and a future pick acquired from Oklahoma City. For some reason, the Cavs will have the option to swap 2012 first-round picks with the Heat as well. The trade exception can be used within one year.

Unless the new CBA changes the way business is done, Orlando & New Orleans will have to get creative by coming up with some real deals or settle for a post "decision" move like Cleveland did.

Miami had the cap space to sign all 3. They could have gotten him without a trade.

Dallas won't. No one can go there unless Nola or Orlando acquiesce, which New Orleans certainly won't. Dream on.

I would be suprised if Howard went to Dallas for the simple reason they are an aging team.
