Take a look. What do you think?

I'll chime in later.

Well shite. I'll still go see it, but I was hoping they could actually capture the tone of Robert E Howard's writings. They failed miserably.

From the director of Pathfinder.

This movie will suck.

Eh...looks like every other sword and sandal CGI flick. The guy playing Conan is Khal Drogo, right?

Looks like every other modern remake or rendition of a classic story, all effects and cheesy intensity and no spirit.

Yeah. He was on Stargate Atlantis as well. Dude got huge since he was on that show.

The only decent interpretation of a Robert E Howard story I've seen was Solomon Kane, and the CGI in that sucked arse, but the story was good.

Not impressed. It would be hard to find a better cut Conan than Arnold. I'm sure I will watch the remake on DVD but won't waste a movie ticket.

My dad's HS debate teacher was Howard's last girlfriend (the woman whose memoirs became the film The Whole Wide World), and she loved the original Conan movie. She especially liked that Arnold pronounced the name the way Howard intended (like Conan O'Brien), saying that people who called him "Co-nan" irritated the hell out of Howard.

He was the bartender in that old Fox Show North Shore about the guy who was the hotel manager in Hawaii

As far as scope and feel the Arnold Conan movies had. They really captured the feel of Hyperboria or how I had always imagined it, but they altered a lot of things about the story.

I never understood why they couldn't just take one of the stories and make the movie. Why do they feel the need to write a completely new story?

I'll watch it. And like others have said Jason Momoa has blown up since his days on SG Atlantis.

I am not a fan of the guy they have playing Conan. He has the look of a secondary character.
