100% more than Walmart's price is always unreasonable. Explain why his costs are 100% more than Walmart's.

Again, unless you are in some wierd arse place where there are few suppliers, I really doubt that Walmart is selling all that much cheaper than the mom and pop stores on crawfish. And this is especially true if you start looking at the quality.

There's no way crawfish from Walmart are 100% more than a local seafood place.

That pretty much makes my argument, they wouldn't have to take everything back if the sold quality products.

You mean the same products sold in most stores?

Perfect example: HEB and Fiesta in Houston are currently selling crawfish for $1.49 - $1.99 per pound.

The "mom and pop" places around here currently average about $2.49 - $2.99 per pound.

BTW they all come from the same place.

Have you bought any from there? They don't come from the same place cause I know the guy that sells to HEB and he buys the cheapest crawfish he can find to bring to HEB.

Well, I have consumed Wal-Mart's meat and poultry a fair amount of times. It's not exactly good stuff.

That's plenty enough reality for me not to trust their crawfish - even if I wanted to set foot inside there.

Then you would probably be ok with what walmart is selling, go for it.

Sounds like trying to get a Bible from a whorehouse. Will you find one? Maybe. But the contents on or in could be disturbing.

I havent seen one person make an informed comment on what WalMart is selling related to live crawfish.

They might be the best damn crawfish anyone has ever seen.

I get the hate, if I sold crawfish I wouldnt want to see Walmart in the business either. But I'm a consumer, and if they offer a good value I'm not going to just ignore it because its Walmart.

They are selling the same Cheerios at Walmart as they are at Albertsons or wherever.

$400 BILLION+ annual revenue and some of you make them sound like the gang that couldnt shoot straight.

Anyone know if Wal-Mart will sell them in small portions? like 5 or 6 lbs at a time? I live alone and at $1.99 this would be solid to do in a big pot on the stove tomorrow after work.

I couldn't give less of a shite where you buy your crawfish, go to walmart just like I told the other guy. I'm sure you'll be back here next week to let us all know how great your walmart crawfish were.

You are correct, but in case you haven't noticed, most normal people don't care for anything that Walmart sells that has to do with being fresh or of good quality. In general their meat, seafood, and produce sucks.

So since you and we all know this, it's up to you to figure out if the "experience" of Wal-Mart is worth the small amount of savings to you - even if the crawfish are the same level of quality.

If I ever buy live crawfish from Walmart and the quality is good I'll let you know. If they are shite, I'll let you know that too. This started when I asked if anyone had any experience with live crawfish purchased from Walmart. Apparently no one has because all anyone can offer is blind hatred based on absolutely nothing.

"I had them and they were great, comparable to my usual vendor and cheaper"

or

" I had them, cheap, but I got what I paid for, tiny and half dead. I won't go back."

I was hoping for responses like that. You hate Walmart, I got it.

No shame in buying certain things from WalMart though there are many things I'd never buy there. Live crawfish seems an open question because it is a new concept for them.

Hopefully someone will show up in this thread with something to share of value.
