I finally broke down and bought this one yesterday. Gamestop has it used for $29.99 btw.
Anyways, how can I tell what questgivers are for the main storyline? On my minimap, I see the letters representing questgivers (e.g. 'B' for Bonnie), but I cannot tell where the main questline continues and which ones are sidequests. I've done a few quests with the Sherrif, and they were basically quests to catch bad guys. Bonnies quests were to help around her ranch.

main quests are marked by letters. They don't always seem important, but they are main quests nonetheless.
I don't understand why anybody would want to avoid the side quests though. they just extend the game and add more bang for your buck.

Oh, I agree with you on the doing the sidequests. I just wanted to know where to go when I want to advance the storyline. I mean, sidequests are fun and all, but they get old to me after a little while. I like to advance the story a little then stop and do a few sidequests.. rinse and repeat
