How is the atmosphere as far as bringing a girl for a first date? Is it casual enough to wear jeans? Haven't been in years but remember the food being good. Thanks.

Or wanting to see a show a rocknbowl. It's better for a drinking buddy and a football game IMHO.

Let me also take this opportunity to assure you that the food is pretty lousy.

For example, the salad they serve is a "stalk" of lettuce. Yep, that's it.

I went about two weeks ago and it was great. I have a review on the dining guide.

It's pretty casual, but I would recommend it.

App - Oysters Bleu

Entree - Seafood Gumbo
Redfish Special

Dessert - Bread Pudding Po Boy

Well, let us pray they improved their oyster po-boy. I went a few years ago, and I'd like to forget I ever went.

Part of me agrees, part of me disagrees. If that makes sense.

It does to me. Not sure if that is a good thing or not.

I went ten years ago with my dad and mom. He loved it, she hated it.
I went a few years ago with my dad and mom after it changed ownership. He loved it, she hated it.

My verdict: not a date place. There are other restaurants on Carrolton that are better date places. It wouldn't kill you to drive to rock and bowl after.

You cannot compare College Inn from ten years ago to the present day College Inn. About all they have in common is the name and po-boys on the menu.

To the OP, I think it would be a fine place for a first date especially since you are going bowling. If you want to try another place, Jacques-Imo's is also nearby.

Too expensive for a first date, and too long of a wait.
