Is this the place on Bertrand? I eat there a couple of times a month. It's really good.

i havent been in a while but I heard they moved. Best cuban sandwich I've ever had. They also have amazing tre leches cake and some kind of fried potato ball that is stuffed with ground meat.

wash it all down with a red stripe and pass out.

Catahoulas in Grand Coteau was fantastic. The late, great James Graham also had an unbelievably good upscale restaurant on the I-49 service road. Was located inside a motel, but the food was unreal. Even had a sommelier for awhile.

That was Fish & Game grill and it was awesome. It may have been the best restaurant Lafayette has ever had, or at least that I have ever been to. The food there was super high quality and I never had a bad meal there. Philippe Simon, of Philippe's Wine Cellar, was the sommelier.

I just realized I didn't answer your other question. I don't know what restaurant that was that was by UL and moved downtown. When was this?

When/how did James Graham die anyway?

No prob - I was looking for Bonnie Bell's Bistro. Not sure if its still open, but it was good.
Graham went from Laffy to Arizona and then to Fla. He was jogging on a beach road and got hit by a car.
Your right - it was Phillippe. I remember going into Graham's place one night, and a trucker came in, looked at the menu, and loudly said "WTF is this - this aint diner food" got up and walked out. Still cannot get over that they opened that type of restaurant in such a crappy location. But, I agree, it was the best restaurant in Laffy.

Bonnie Bell's is still open, my wife has been bugging me to go there. She likes it and I think she knows the owner.

Didn't Graham open Lafayette's?
