Shaky quarterback play has LSU fans bonkers in the Bayou

quote:

The same fans clamoring to bury LSU quarterback Jarrett Lee two years ago are the same fans yearning for Lee to return to his former starting role this week as No. 6 LSU travels to Jordan-Hare Stadium to face No. 5 Auburn, which is also undefeated.

These are the same fans who screamed from the cheap seats to the luxury suites in Tiger Stadium for Jordan Jefferson to replace Lee two years ago, and are the same ones consistently calling more vehemently than ever for Jefferson's head this season.

What happened two years ago is irrelevant. It it were relevant, we'd be asking to play Charles Scott.

If Jefferson's play had even been adequate, there would still be a debate. That's a testament to how poorly he has played this season. It's been absolutely terrible, putrid, disastrous, horrendous, painful, awful, ugly and just plain bad.

Two years ago is two years ago.

JL appears to have improved substantially, without the benefit of game snaps.

JJ OTOH isn't any better than the 1st time he took a snap for LSU.

This.

From the article;

quote:

When asked if Jefferson felt pressure to hold off Lee for the starting job, Jefferson said, "No pressure. He's just had some great plays called for him, and he's executed the way he's needed to to put points on the board. It just happens that way. Both of us are putting points on the board."

Sorry, Jordan. That's not exactly accurate.

Jefferson has not thrown a touchdown pass since the season opener against North Carolina. During the past three games, Jefferson was 15 of 30 for 158 yards with three interceptions and no touchdowns. Jefferson is averaging an interception every 15 pass attempts. Even in the worst of times for "Pick-Six Lee," he threw an interception every 16 passing attempts in 2008.

Jefferson's no longer pleading for mercy. He's pleading for memory loss.

He was relevant two years ago, but isn't now because he's not here. It's the same with the QB situation. What happened two years ago with them is just as irrelevant.

JL's numbers are much better, but he's not without flaw. He's made some bad decisions and thrown some shoulda-been picks.

But Jefferson has been so terrible that his negatives have totally eclipsed Lee's.

CBS can eat my dick and die in a terrible all-consuming fire, simply for being responsible for those godforsaken 2:30 games.

OP. Yeah so what. Yes people wanted Lee to sit the bench because he was giving points away and that was the difference in those games. duh.

Yeah we are no calling for JJ to sit because he has developed into the worst LSU quarterback of all time. duh!

JLee is leading LSU to TD's over and over again. duh

So whats the fricking point? The fans want the best qb on the field. Big shock there!

True statements. The most popular QB in Baton Rouge has always been the QB not playing. LSU fans have always suffered from the "grass is always greener syndrome." Just so happens in this case, they're right. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while.

I love how everybody always assumes that both groups are made up of the same people.

This. I still haven't figured out how there hasn't been a D1 transfer over the last 2 years who thought man, I could go down there and fix that shite. A Ryan Mallet type guy who could give us two transfer years. We can only hope we get Zach Mettenberger from Butler County Community College.

Not true. Lee's 72% completion percentage would be tops in the SEC among all QB's...if he had enough attempts to qualify.

I believe Jarrett should get enough attempts this coming weekend to be ranked in the SEC stats, IIRC.

Fans want the guy that will give us the best chance at winning. Right now that is Lee.
