I am really disappointed to hear that Tiger will be on the team. He did not want it, and I am sure there are others out there who really do want a chance to be on the team. Not to mention, his less than stellar play since returning and all of the off the course crap he has going on.

he said he wanted to be on it...... .......finished 11th this past weekend with three rounds in the 60's to close out the tournament.....seems to me like he's got his game going in the right direction....

I like the picks, 3 solid vets, and tiger is getting better every week. Rickie has been solid all year, and is stellar in match play. Was sick at the walker cup.

Hopefully that boo comment was just for the humor he brings, cause his play this year has been terrible

Not me, we're a decided underdog when you compare the teams. Europe is strong, so strong that Monty left the #10 ranked player in the world off his team.

Having said that, Geaux Yanks!

Yeah, one good weekend definitely means Tiger is back. I think the media will be an issue, he isn't great at team play, and overall I think he will be more of a distraction than a help. If he had more of this one weekend, I could see it, but I would rather have someone else out there.

Woods hedged on Wednesday when asked whether he would accept a Captain's Pick, saying three times he planned to play his way onto the team. On Sunday, when someone inquired whether he even wanted to play Woods' answer was even more telling. "Not playing like this, definitely not, not playing like this,'" he said. "I wouldn't help the team if I'm playing like this. No one would help the team if they're shooting 18 over par. "I think I can turn it around, but we've got a lot of time between now and then, which is good."

I don't think he has turned it around. He planned to play his way on, but he did not.

I thought there was another interview, where he made more "we will see comments", but I was unable to find. However, I believe most of his comments have been more will try/ we will see vs. I really want this opportunity.

Somebody at CBS sports thinks he should decline, as well.

I understand Pavin probably feels he has to pick the world's number one golfer, but if Phil wasn't such a dorkwad, he could have taken that title (not much of a Phil fan, but he has dorked up his chances to claim that title).

He has been on the team before, and he is close friends with Bubba so I was thinking he could be there for support. He's played better as of late, but he's been on return from injury all season. I bet you see him in the crowd for the Cup cheering on the US team

Yeah, he said that in akron and played awful. Hired foley before PGA. They asked tiger if he would accept captains pick at PGA. He said the goal was still to play his way on, but he would absolutely accept a pick and wants to be on the team. He will be fine, its not just one weekend. He had random solid rounds. Now he's putting them together as they head to cog hill, a place he's had a lot of success. I say he's finally in the heat this Sunday to justify the pick.
