The wife wants some Thai food. Any suggestions in or around the Metairie/N.O. area? Thanks

+1

I like it better than Sukho Thai and I haven't ever been to Basil Leaf.

Probably the best but its a fusion Thai place. New Orleans doesn't really have any good authentic Thai places that I know of.

I live on the Westbank. A place opened up on Wall Blvd. And Belle Chasse Hwy. called Banana Blossom. Its pretty authentic and good in the two or three times I've been. That is if you are brave enough to cross the big scary bridge.

I really enjoy la Thai. It's fusion, but there's a good chance that you'll enjoy these dishes. My fist visit happened by chance. My intent was to have dinner at Kyoto, but the experiences there seemed to dwindle with each visit. After parking the car, I noticed la Thai a couple of doors down so I decided to give it a shot, not knowing anything about the restaurant, and was very happy with the food. The place had a nice bit of energy to it as well.

I need to give it another chance, I guess. Been there twice. Sometimes fusion just doesn't work. I found a little too much sweetness in some of the dishes.

Another vote for Singha, although it's the only Thai place I've been to in N.O. And it's usually pretty dead at dinner in there which can be nice.

Equator is good if you're looking for something in Metairie.

It's really good.

I'd give it the nod over Sukho Thai. The owner/chef used to work at Sukho Thai in the Marigny several years back.
