Way to go, WAFB! Is a Google search too much work for these guys?

This is why I don't watch local news.

Their actual birth names are "Adkisson", but every member of the family that went into the wrestling business used the ring name "Von Erich", after the family patriarch, Fritz (real name - Jack).

Patriarch Fritz lived until his natural death, but 5 of his 6 sons died before him (3 by suicide). Jack Jr died at the age of seven. In 1984 David Von Erich died in Japan from acute enteritis of the upper intestine. Michael, Chris, and Kerry all committed suicide in 1987, 1991, & 1993 respectively. Mike died after taking an overdose of Placidyl. Chris shot himself in the head with a 9mm at his parents home in East Texas. Kerry shot himself in the chest behind his father's house on Shady Shores Road. Kevin Von Erich is sole surviving child of Fritz Von Erich (Jack Adkisson) and Doris Adkisson.

There should be a movie made about this family.

Are there any Von erichs alive to give their respects at the funeral?

Kevin is still kickin. And Kerry's daughter is in the biz. And she is smokin hot. I will try and find a pic.

Found it.

re: Legendary wrestling manager Skandor Akbar passes away

In the 1980s, Adams married Jeannie Clark, who participated in the NWA as "Lady Blossom" from the late 1970s to around 1984. Together, they had a daughter, Jade.[8] Jade was later adopted by Clark's second husband, Steve Austin.[9]

Chris later married Toni Collins in 1985, producing a son, Christopher Jr. That marriage lasted until 1994. Toni died in 2010.

Adams also shared a daughter, Julia Adams, from a relationship with Brandi Freeman, who wrestled as "Miss Brandi" in a handful of wrestling cards he promoted before going to WCW. The couple split in late-1999. Freeman died in 2003, leaving Julia orphaned.

His final marriage occurred six weeks prior to his death to Karen. They were wed August 2001 in Dallas.

[edit] Death
In April 2000, Adams and his girlfriend of four months, Linda Kaphengst, were both found unconscious inside a friend's apartment, the victims of an overdose of the drug GHB and alcohol. Adams recovered, but Kaphengst died at a local hospital ten hours later. Over a year later, Adams was indicted on a manslaughter charge, but on October 7, 2001, while awaiting trial, he was fatally shot in the chest during a drunken brawl with a friend, known as Booray, at the man's Texas home.[10] The gun owner claimed self-defense and was found innocent of all charges.[10] This decision drew the ire of many wrestling fans, fellow wrestlers and family members, including brother Neil, who holds strong animosity towards the gun owner to this day.

Holy Hell
