we said that texas would be number 1 in recruiting last year when they got a bunch of commits on junior day. with the way mack recruits, i don't think they will be assured of top five classes, but not an out and out number 1 class.

Talk about living in the land of milk and honey. The state of Texas can stock UT, most of OU and send quality players to LSU and a bunch of other schools.
It's funny how none of the other Texas schools have really stepped up in recent times to share in that wealth. In Florida, UF, Fla. State and the U each take a decade or so to be on top. In Texas, the other Texas schools just haven't seemed to be able to do that.

Texas Tech was starting to look like a desireable option to go play football for other than UT but they fired the coach who brought them success.

Tuberville will be a good coach at Texas Tech. He will build Texas Tech's defense up.
I really think he could get Texas Tech playing at the same level that he had Auburn playing.
If he can then Texas Tech will give the Big 12 hell.

He also benefited from Bama's decline while at Auburn. But you r right about him being a good coach. I'm not sure if he could win many recruiting battles against UT and Oklahoma.

Not much different from what they normally do. Mack gives out the offers that Texas kids have been waiting years for at the Jr Day. He gets half of his commitments on that day. The positive for LSU is that if Mack gets 2 DE's that day, uncommitted top DE prospects in Texas would start looking at LSU much harder.

Following coverage on the incident and what other coaches said about the "victim", I think the athletic director wanted him gone before they were done investigating. That's just my opinion though.

Not condoning violence but I doubt it was as black and white or simple as that.
Adam was a douchebag who had problems with work - he didn't want to do it.
Leach was old school powertripping coach.
If either had been slightly different or if Adam's dad had not been an analyst in frickin' ESPN this would have never seen the light of the day.

Craig James should be terribly embarrassed for the way his kid has behaved. That being said, Leach should have known that the administration was just looking for a reason to dump his egotistical arse.

Texas does this every year. Go look at all their recruiting classes and youll see that the majority of them committed on or around their junior day. It's a tradition there

This.
It's been Mack Brown's strategy for years now. I'm not suprised one bit they have so many early commits.

Bama will have a better class than Texas.
I actually think a lot of the guys Texas took were less than impressive.
