Jersey Shore Season 2

Don't know if this has been covered here yet, but is the Shore cast out of line for playing hardball with MTV for more money? MTV is offering $10,000 per episode with a $10,000 signing bonus and the cast wants more. MTV is threatening to replace them next season if they don't come to terms soon.
Thoughts? Are they worth this or are they replaceable?

absolutely.
But I will say that with the money and publicity MTV is making off the show, 10K per episode seems a little low.

I dont get why MTV doesn't just say frick'em. I mean they are 100% replaceable. They only one that could be argued is Sitch.

They are the first and will always be associated with Jersey Shore. If Letterman is making Jokes about them, they have have arrived. They deserve more and they will get it.

Finding douche-bag guido in Jersy is about as hard as finding a coon-arse in eastern Louisiana. They're a dime-a-dozen and completely interchangeable.

Sitch, pauly & snooki pretty much made the show. Everyone else should be replaced. According to online reports, sammi is the main one holding out. She is the first one that needs to be replaced IMO. Other reports say that the cast is taking an all or nothing approach though.

most people want to see some of the cast stay and some of the cast leave. problem is, the cast has a 3 musketeers mentality, and as a result ronnie and sammy are probly gonna be back. i think there should be 2 jersey shore shows. 1 with the original cast (with a replacement for angelina). and 1 with a fresh set of guidos. have 1 show the 1st month of summer and the other show the 2nd month of summer.

From a thread yesterday talking about the same thing, someone said The Hills cast make 100k per episode, so 10000 is pretty respectable. But they just need to bring back 3 or 4 of the original cast not all.

for as much money as they made for MTV and for how much people cant wait for season 2, id hold out for more too. They could get 25k per episode and MTV would still make a shite load

I read that the Situation and Pauly D are getting $10k per appearance now, why would they do the same amount for an episode? The show is the biggest hit on TV in recent memory, if I were them I'd hold out for more $$$ too. The show wouldn't be the same with a new cast
