Received an email from LSU H.R.
All offensive (excluding D.J.)coaches were given raises and contract extensions.
"The Assistant Coaches received contract extensions on their contracts that were approved by the Board of Supervisors in October 2009. The contracts were retroactive with a start date of January 1, 2009 – December 31, 2011 for Crowton and Porter and were January 1, 2009 – March 31, 2011 for Robinson and Studrawa."
Thanks,

this literally makes absolutely no sense.

So that would make the buyouts as follows:
Crowton: $900,000 (2 years at $450,000/year)
Studs: $460,000 (2 years at $230,000/year)
Sad, sad, sad. Again, given BelowPar's comments on them possibly being worried about buying out Crowton, its hard to believe that LSU has any shot of buying out almost anyone given these idiotic contracts.

This was pretty well known for a while now... only guy that didn't get a raise on the offensive side was DJ...

the 900k has been known about for weeks..this is not news to anyone...including BP
BP assumed the buyout would not be an issue, but he has learned that it could be the reason why GC stays....but he still "guesses" that GC is gone...
I think they are trying to persuade him to find a job...It's better for GC's career! Collecting 900k....from LSU and he might remain unemployed for a very long time...
So GC aught think about finding another job, that way LSU gets what they want, and GC gets what he needs. win win...that is why this situation is touch and go....nothing is certain

I read that the Arkansas game was huge for Les Miles future at LSU (did you see how it ended!!) TIFWIW!
Miles has a fire under his arse and after 2 straight seasons of below average play, and moreover you have Crowton bringing LSU to 107th in total offense with all this talent is stupefying!
LSU football is big boy football...facing an arms race in the SEC....900k is a lot of money....but when you hear things like, Miles is in the hot seat...then you have to think Crowton's fire is about 10 times hotter?
Politically, Miles has to act on this issue. the offense was pathetic and that is Gary Crowton's offense.
In business, sometime you have to bit the bullet..LSU probably needs to bit the bullet on Crowton...we need fresh energy, shake it up!

this!!
That was before the season began folks...finishing 107th in offense at LSU is unacceptable.
forget Crowton, Miles was perhaps canned with a loss to Arkansas... after the Ole Miss deal, the house was caving in on him...
Once a fan based turns on a coach, it's over...I don't care what the freaking contract says...your done, and the program will find the money when their happiness is at stake.. just my opinion
