I haven't read this thread, but the 5 yard running into the kicker on what is clearly 4th and 6 somehow resulting in a Bama first down that led to a field goal is a far bigger frick up to me.

You can argue judgment calls, whether Peterson had possesion with a foot down, and whether the replay was indisputable evidence all damn day, but there is no valid argument that Bama should have had a first down after the running into the kicker penalty when there was over 5 yards to go for the first down. I don't know how Miles let that happen without ripping the ref's head off and shitting down his neck hole.

I thought it resulted in 4 and inches, and they went for it and got it...

That would explain why no one else is bitching about it. I was pretty drunk by then.

It's still a pretty egregious error to mis-spot the ball on fourth down after a penalty in the fourth quarter of a national title semi-final game....

I know how Arkansas fans feel like now. It would make you Bama fans feel the same way if the calls were going the other way. It was an interception and Yes we got beat. I, for one, can finally move on to the rest of the season. The game ended up "middling" and that is all that really mattered for someone. Florida will crush Alabama in Georgia..

I agree that our OT was holding #25 on the spearing of our QB. Should have been offsetting penalties. Another expample of poor officiating in this game. Once they would have called our guy for holding, then they should have been more likely to call the rest of the holding on Alabama.

No he wasn't. That is not holding.

Every picture shows his arm around him. How is that not holding? The rule states you are not to hook or encircle with your arms.

Don't forget the flagrant facemask against Hitt that resulted in a sack that killed a fourth quarter drive. Verne and Gary commented on it.

To fully understand that the Peterson was indeed out of bounds you need to study the Bryant-Denny Stadium chart provided by NC_Tigah.

Why is the picture with the facemask in here? The last picture in the OP. They threw a flag for that but it was negated due to the false start. So that can be taken out.

Play was supposedly dead. Should have been a personal foul regardless (even I know I'm reaching a little bit here).

Seriously, though, the fact that they called the penalty on such a minor flinch on a crucial 4th down play was pretty shady to begin with. There are many more obvious flinches than that one which go uncalled in every football game.

I agree, though, if one picture doesn't belong with the others, it is that one. But nonetheless, it stays.

I know the officials were horrible, but it was a legit false start.

The biggest frick up about this -- RUNNING INTO THE KICKER

You forgot the one where running into the kicker rather than roughing the kicker. Five yards vs 15 yards.
The photo of Julio faking the drawers off the defensive player for 73yds.
Coaches calling time out three times with ten plus minutes left in the game.
This one play did not cost us the game....

No shite Sherlock. It's not a matter of that one play costing us the game, it's a matter of our team being denied a fair chance at scoring.
