From the port. I have looked every where for quality boudin. Does not exist here. I have to stock up down south.

I've heard Shane's boudin is pretty good, haven't had it first hand though.

Would you feel better had we said shite Boudin?

The crap sold in the stores is pretty much that.. Crap.. The OP asked for BEST STOP QUALITY!! Not that mush in a casing they sell at those places you mention.. NO you cannot find quality Boudin in Shreveport.

Easy guys. I agree about the boudin sold in grocery stores. Hell, I can buy that in Austin. I was originally thinking of some hole in the wall place that sells it by the pound, not in 2 link freezer packs.

The closest place to find good boudin would be Ville Platte.

The best hole in the wall places are Maxwell's and Cush's. Just look them up in the phone book and call them about Boudin. If they don't have it, you can't get it.

Is Maxwell's over by Brookshire's and Jason's Deli?

Yes, right across the street. It's a 45 minute drive for me but I make it for the anduoille when I make chicken gumbo. Never asked them about boudin since we don't eat it.

I was going to suggest Maxwell's. They make their own and it is good. I use it for stuffing pork. Don't buy any of their dip though, it sucks.

It is always nice to be reminded that nothing good in Louisiana exists north of Hwy 190. They are better football fans, the food is better, everything is better.

What is with the fricking chip on all the yankees up in Shreveport? YOU DONT HAVE GOOD BOUDIN! The stuff at Maxwells is NOT Best Stop Quality. Its just the way it is.. Its nothing against Shreveport or anyplace north of Opelousas its just that nobody up there makes the stuff as good as what is available in SW LA. For that Matter you cannot find good boudin in New Orleans area either. The andouille available outside the Laplace area isnt as good either. Jambalaya SUCKS in New Orleans too. Why is this so hard to get? Diff parts of Louisiana makes different things better. The OP wants Best Stop quality boudin in Shreveport and as bad as some of you like to hear it there is none of that quality in Shreveport. Hell BR only has a place that serves Best Stop quality boudin because it has a place run by the same family.

Jambalaya is something you make yourself. I'm from New Iberia and no one "buys" jambalaya.
