Coach Sean Payton was reported to be "dying" for a power back in February, but Triplett believes New Orleans is comfortable using Reggie Bush and Pierre Thomas as a 1-2 punch. Triplett does expect the Saints to add a short-yardage prospect later in the offseason, but he'll have to make the team first.

I honestly want Tomlinson. I think the man can still play contrary to 95% of this board.

The LT talk, if it actually came from the Saints, is strictly to help draw FAs, in my opinion. Made to Sound like we are serious at making a run. I can't see anyway that he could fit under the cap.

Have we reached the time of year already where teams starting put out false info on what they plan to do or not do in the draft?

I hope we don't draft a rb a #14, and dont think we will but I don't think you can trust what any front office guy says this time of year.

Why would we have to play these games with the number one offense? I think Drew is lobbying for his old buddy to come here

wow...just the thought of adding LT(if healthy) to the saints offense is making me smile! thats a Madden on Easy type of offense! i dont know how the hell everyone would get their touches but its fun to think about.

focus on D in the first round of the draft (and second if we trade down) and don't worry about a rb till the 5th round or so, or just get someone in free agency

Because it's the number 1 offense that still can't get a 3rd and 1. If it could, we would have won at least two more games this year.

i understand the need of all defense.. and having the number 1 offense.. but thats mainly because of all the passing.. and sometimes playing from behind.. it wouldn't hurt to have a solid running back.. but i think i would rather see us draft OL before RB..

They could trade down and take a RB.

The reason why there are so few trade-downs in the first round is because the accepted price is too high.

The Saint's could take less than the accepted trade price this year and profit from it.

That link is the best evidence that they want Moreno.

I think it means we are drafting Wells if he is around.

take from chat at nola.com today:

can someone please address the question about Lynell Hamilton??? do you guys think Lynell Hamilton could be the power back we need????

2:25 Mike Triplett, T-P: Hey DJ Wick, I know the Saints definitely think highly of Hamilton -- as well as Mike Bell, the young power back they signed late last season. They would be perfectly comfortable heading into next year with a foursome of Bush/Pierre/Bell/Hamilton. But they've learned better than most teams that you can't have too much depth at tailback, so I'm pretty sure they'll add some big back into the mix at some point. It just won't be a No. 1-caliber guy.
