Yes, Yes and more Yes. Come to LSU for no other reason than our football team, I mean, what other reason would a college exist for.

PS- Some people on this board are TPT who struggled to get out of high school so they'd be able to work on a rig. Take the input for what its worth.

I'd much rather go to school with oil field workers who care about nothing but football than stuck up folks like you seem to be.

I live in Dallas and get a snoot full of ut talk all the time. recently, I've had a bunch of big-12 fans come up to me and tell me how they'd seen the light of SEC football! If you want to be in your home state and enjoy some good football, a big-12 school is fine.
If you want to go to a school at the pinnacle of the BEST conference in the nation, one that takes football more seriously than everything except maybe religon, then make your move and enroll at LSU!
I don't wait 'till after the texas-ou game to determine if I'm going to wear my colors during the football season, I wear them year-round, and I a part of the rule rather than an exception.
quote:

Our worth in life will be thy worth, We pray to keep it true, And thy spirit dwell in us forever, Dear old L-S-U.

Not just words, a way of life. You can become a part of LSU, but it shall surely become a part of you!
You may choose, but choose wisely.

Did you go to LSU too, 'feedthepig'?

I hope not. Your reading comprehension needs work.

Have ya been to Waco in the winter, or summer, or anytime for that matter. Once you leave campus it is pretty much a hell hole.

I grew up in Chicago. I was fortunate enough to be accepted to a wide range of colleges. Certain of my family members had attended the University of Chicago and many expected I would follow in their footsteps. But LSU offered me an academic scholarship and my dad encouraged me to fly down to Baton Rouge. I was a shy child and I think he sensed that the unique Louisiana joie de vive would benefit me. I visited the campus. On my first day there, my father and I wandered into an empty Tiger Stadium, echoing like the Coliseum. On my first night there, a beautiful LSU ambassador took a group of admitted students to a bar called Sports. By the time I woke up the next morning, I couldn't imagine attending school elsewhere. I enrolled. I was in the honors program. I was mentored by a great philosophy professor who honed my mind. I pledged a fraternity. I danced at the Varsity. I learned how to drink bourbon. And, more often, Natty Light. I fell into and out of the warm sea of infatuation. I went to bed one Friday night, expecting nothing, and woke to pandemonium: LSU tailgating. I memorized the fight song. Saturdays in the fall became sacrosanct. In the spring, I surfed the Mardi Gras crowds on Bourbon. Or lounged in the Sunday silence of the quad. Or listened to the ping of the bats in Alex Box. The entire city seemed supported by a legion of bronzed young female legs, long and glistening. The sunlight relfected on the lakes. I met the man who is, to this day, my best friend. There were moments. There was a night I went to the movies at the Union with a moon goddess. There was an endless day spent playing pick-up football on the Parade Grounds. There was laughter, so much laughter that I couldn't honor it all here, the sort of laughter you effortlessly, casually spill when you are young, the arm in arm drunken laughter of 2 AM. I was no longer shy. In movie class, I met a pretty Cajun girl with long brown hair. I visited her sorority house. We went to the Chimes. We kissed when LSU felled the mighty Gators. She brought me home to Lafayette. To my surprise, her father said I could have her hand. We were married beneath the oaks of a plantation under a wide and dazzling summer sky. As they say, it was the time of my life. And when you decide to attend LSU, it'll be yours too. I envy you, kid.
Man, that gave me the goosebumps. I am proud to be a Tiger! I was pondering today how blessed i am to geaux to school here.

Since you didn't mention a major, I can only assume academics aren't a priority; if they were, we could list where LSU stands in various schools ( and no, academicly, I wouldn't recommend LSU for everything under the sun... ). So that leaves atmosphere & social life. Most have covered the football & campus experience. That leaves one major factor...women. LSU is the "Big Easy" 3.0 ( New Orleans being first, Lafayette being second ). If you are shy or a virgin, join a frat to get laid; its like a mandatory requirement that they get you there. If not, you can have a field day even without the greek stuff. And yes, the women are hot and willing to experiment. Have fun!

Can't really go wrong with either IMO. I graduated LSU in '99 and had the time of my life. I currently live in Austin now, and Austin has much much more to offer in terms of nightlife, social scene, and just much more overall shite to do. Still knowing what I know now being that I have lived in both cities, I would not trade my college years in BR for anytime in my life.

if you can make that happen, then do that. i loved LSU, but you can't afford to not go to the "best" school possible, esp if you get in-state

LSU is more like family. Maybe it is because Louisiana's total population is the same as Houston's. I was having trouble, in a robbery situation, on the street, some bad arse LSU guy busted up into the middle of it, and saved me. A friend of mine did the same thing for a stranger in Atlanta, cuz the victim was wearing the purple and gold, and without thinking about his wife and kids he was in the middle of it. The bad guy fled. These bastards over here are crazy. They will have your back.
