Every few minutes I look...and still there is no firing of Malleveto! Unless the best candidates all need to finish out their seasons first, I cant understand why they havent been canned yet. JUST DO IT!! I'm losing my grip over here

Miles is out recruiting and will be back in BR later this week. He'll get rid of the co-dc's then.

He should do it over the phone. Send an email. Whatever. Just get it done.

I know

I heard from a source that the DCs will definately be fired but the other names mentioned in the firings are just rumors for now.

The LSU Tiger Nation needs to start the healing and rebuilding process and that starts with the firing of Malleveto

Clearly Les hasn't been able to get through to you to get your input on timing.

#1 ... they're not going to fire someone (Peveto) who might possibly be taking a head coaching job somewhere else. If that happens, there's no reason for the bad press of a "firing" for either party. Just let him take the job, wish him well and let him move on (although I think Peveto is one of the few that will be retained at LSU and demoted if he doesn't get the NWState job).

#2 ... you are NOT EVER going to see a "negative" press conference firing the defensive staff. As soon as we get a new defensive coordinator, you'll see a "positive" press conference announcing changes to the defensive staff and the future of the LSU defense. As far as the other assistants, you're NOT going to see a press conference for the specific purpose of announcing their termination ... they're merely going to be told to hit the road, look for another job, and when they get another job that's when we'll know they're gone (although it's already apparent to most of us which ones have been told to move on). There's no reason to trash someone in the media by holding a press conference announcing their termination.

#3 ... don't look for an official announcement of the new DC or new defensive assistants until AFTER the bowl game because of the recruiting ramifications. If we lose coaches on the defense, Miles can take more in-home visits during Dec/Jan than he would normally be able to take with a full staff, which it is a very good thing for the head coach to be able to take more in-home visits than normal. Thus, we will probably already have a deal in place with a new DC but they will wait until January to officially announce it. As far as people that want someone announced NOW for the sake of re-invigorating yourself for ONE game (the bowl game), that's just stupid. The FUTURE OF THE PROGRAM (hiring the right guy and recruiting players that will be here for the next 5 years) is ALOOOOOT more important that one lousy bowl game and fans' impatience.

#4 ... Take a deep breath. There's a lot going on behind the scenes and LSU and Miles are trying to put together a solid defensive staff. It is happening as we speak, and it is happening at a pretty rapid pace. I'm of the opinion Chavis has already accepted a spot as DC as many have reported and that now he and Miles are just piecing together the rest of the staff, which may or may not include Orgeron as the D-line coach and recruiting coordinator.

You're right, of course. But like I said, I'm losing my grip over here. I still have Lou Tepper flashbacks.

i would have thought they would announce before the bowl game..

Peveto is a great recruiter, and is still recruiting. He was reported as visiting Calhoun at school Monday. I'm certain the situation will be handled properly by LSU and the correct changes will be made.

Malleveto does not deserve any bonus money.

Les does not take his bonus money if he gets any this year and distributes it to his assistants.

Malleveto has been a lockerroom cancer and a cancer on the field as well. They need to be shown the door.
