WVU was a much better fit than Missouri

This is just stupid and a scheduling nightmare all over football. Missouri - in the SEC - geesh - at least West Virginia was "east" and they would have been a nice fit in the Eastern division.

Many parties are going to rue the day they made these ill-thought out decisions. WVU fits the mode of a rabid fan base - Missouri does not.

So it's set in stone that Missouri is going to the West? Ok.

I'll label you on my contacts list as an Insider.

WV TV market is weak and Mo. TV market is much larger, which translates into more money to spread around..It does not take a rocket scientist to figure this one out.

Missouri is a much better school in all aspects and has a lot more upside in athletics than WV could ever dream of.

I am looking forward to personally witnessing the shock and awe that rains down on Mizzou fans when certain SEC fan bases roll into town.

I don't think he ever said that. I think what he's saying is that even if Mizzou is thrown in the East, it's a bit strange geographically.

Not as strange as WVU in the Big 12. That will be a nightmare for fans traveling.

Mizzou is in the big boys league in academics.

in the SEC, only Vandy, Florida AND now, Texas A&M are.

Missouri has two large cities. Missouri has TV watching football fans.

And while part of Missouri is north, part of Missouri is South.
ALL of WV is at altitude. So all of WV has serious snow in winter.

If you are in Arkansas or Kentucky, Missouri is a neighbor.
Its not so out of range as WV which is a flight to Pittsburgh PA to get to. try driving to Morgantown in winter.

ehhh academics are overrated. I mean I don't want community colleges in the SEC but the University of Arkansas is considered a bad school when these ratings are mentioned and in the right field of study you can get a perfectly fine education. If Arkansas really is the 3rd worst academic school in the SEC then I think the conference is doing alright.

Exactly - and the more AAU universities, the more potential for cooperation for big research grants = big $$$

Now SEC will have more AAU schools than Big 12. Don't think the Big 12 doesn't realize what it lost with the loss of A&M and now Mizzou as AAU schools.
