After A&M the SEC will add the school that increases its TV market the most. With that in mind, this will be their preference for a 14th school:

1) FSU (FL has 5 metro markets in the Top 50)
2) Virginia Tech (large alumni presence in D.C., Richmond)
3)Missouri (+5 mil in St Louis and K.C.)

FSU has no chance. Florida does not want them, and the only way this expansion goes down is if FSU is out. Same with GT and Clemson.

The ONLY school I see as being a good fit is VT. Misery would work, but arkie and KU don't want them in. Nobody objects to VT. If only VT would listen to reason.

if based just on market size, Mizzou would be best choice for an addition

UF already brings in all of Florida's market

VT doesn't really bring much of DC as people think, and its a far shot of getting pride from Virginia and the ACC

Mizzou adds a huge new market not already tapped into

The SEC already has those markets with UF in the conference. FSU would add some nation wide appeal, however.

These are the 2 most logical choices in terms of TV revenue since would add new TV markets to the SEC.

Where do you get your info from? Arkansas was pushing for Missouri to get in. Its a win/win for us if they are in the conference because we would like nothing more than to get our foot even deeper in to Missouri.

Well, then maybe it's just UK (think I typed KU above). I have no prob. with Misery. They would bring some good basketball and football is on the rise.

If Missouri came on than forced rivalries would make more sense at least

LSU-Texas A&M
Arkansas - Mizzou

We used to have a pretty heated basketball rivalry with Missouri. We haven't played them but a few times in football in our history but I bet it would ramp up pretty quickly. I for one would love to have them in the conference with A&M. Much better fit for us than adding an east coast school.

Agreed, Florida doesn't want FSU, and that is a very small TV market.
The BEST would be NC or NC State, bringing the whole of that state, right up to DC, and great Baseball, Basketball and academic schools, too.
They're geographically appropriate and balance the West.

I'm hearing just the opposite. This whole expansion...from the beginning...was planned by Slive and the SEC offices to be Texas A&M and Florida State.

There is a reason that only 11 of the 12 school presidents will be participating in the meeting Sunday. Florida is abstaining.

Bring them both into the West and send Auburn to the East. Heck, they vote with the east already anyways.

Florida already plays FSU every year. With them going SEC UF could count them at a conference game and and line up a patsy for OOC spot. If anything the schools that never play FSU who would now have to start playing a potential beast each year would like it less.
