IMHO, 1. TX best option would be to just replace Nebraska with a quality team, maybe Boise St or Utah. This probably improves their conference, and leaves their relatively easy road to the BCS championship intact.

2. The fan bases of TX, OK, etc. will hate being in the PAC-10. The travel will be a problem. And it may not generate as much money as people think in TV revenue. The west coast game times are a real problem. Other than USC-OK and USC-TX, who cares?

3. TX doesn't want any part of the SEC, but I don't really want TX and OK in the SEC. The conference would become a blood bath. It's tough enough as it is.

not happening. Boise just joined with the MWC today so they aren't going anywhere and is a huge risk for teams to join a dying conference. Most people who are fans of the big 12 south teams want to keep the big 12 alive but the conference is behind on tv deals and the north division is incredibly weak right now.

Boise just joined the Mountain West Conference and Utah is nowhere close to being the same quality Nebraska was.

Their is no way that Boise St. or Utah would be an improvement over Nebraska.

boise has already joined the mwc and utah is destined to be in the pac ten unless tamu folds their tent and doesn't go their own way.

Obviously, it's too late for Boise st., but Tx knew Neb was leaving. Maybe a little advnace planning...

I don't agree about Neb. quality. They've done nothing for years. I seem to remember Boise st beating OK and Utah beating Alabama.

I think the big 12 could have saved itself if it made a tv deal with fox and had equal revenue sharing. Instead the big 12 commish got bullied by Texas and this is what happens

I agree. I don't think it will turn out as well as Tx thinks. They were better off where they were in the long run.

The Big 12 died because of Texas. We should not force the issue with Texas. It is interesting the conferences they are in keep failing. I wonder if Texas has demanded they not play USC until they are off probation when they will be at their weakess?

Dude.....Texas was in the SWC for over 80 years. That conference died because, in the modern era, you can't have an entire conference in just one state.

The Big 12 was always doomed for failure. Texas wanted to streamline things and head for greener pastures but was forced to be with Texas Tech and Baylor and a lot of other schools that can't generate revenue to save their lives.

Do you think the SEC wants any part of Texas?

If the SEC didn't want any part of Texas, they wouldn't have offered them to join. If SEC teams face UF, Bama, LSU, UGA, Tenn, and Auburn teams on a consistent basis, why would anyone have a problem facing Texas consistently?

So you're saying that had Boise St and Utah been in the Big 12, they would've still made it to those BCS games?
