To be clear: Commissioner Larry Scott did meet with Texas and Oklahoma. A deal could have been done if not for some audacious other-end behavior.

The message, as one Bowl Championship Series executive familiar with the situation relayed it this week, was "Texas cannot be trusted."

The Pac-12 was willing to consider expansion again, but not on anyone else's terms.

The audacious part was Oklahoma and Texas acting as if it was their decisions to join the Pac-12, not the other way around.

Many in the league were appalled to read details of Texas' Pac-12 entry application in Sunday's Austin American-Statesman. The newspaper suggested a way Texas could join the Pac-12 while retaining the revenue from the Longhorn Network. The story had the financial breakdown and even the 16-team pod system that would make it all work.

From the sound of the Times article Texas will never get an invite from the PAC so they have screwed themselves out of that option when the BIG 12 collapses. Looks like OU may have screwed themselves just by association with UT from that option as well. Looks like they will be putting saving the BIG 12 in overdrive now...hide your kids.

At least Texas is transparent about its emphasis on the LHN.

The Pac promised OU an offer and did a last minute 180........they sure look worse to me.

Deloss and Mack could be caught covered in blood standing over a corpse of a dead underage male prostitute and you'd respond with "what? everyone voted for it, we havent done anything wrong?"

OU certainly doesn't look great, BUT, the fact remains that the deal fell through because of yall.
Texas was rejected by the PAC, and apparently the ACC. Certainly doesn't look good.

"Texas cannot be trusted ".

This is news? They're scrambling to keep it together cause no one else will have them - on their arrogant terms.

Old adage - goes around, comes around.
