If you watched the A&M introduction last night, one of the things that I heard that I have always believed is that the culture of the SEC is special. You saw last night a very different culture with the Aggies. Male Cheerleaders, weird cheers, strange rituals, but mostly passion. Mike Slive went so far as to say that A&M is a cultural fit.

I believe that West Virginia offers a great deal of those things as well. It does not offer the large markets, the huge student population or the huge endowment, but they have passion.

We have played them twice and they have acquitted themselves well both years. Face it, they could have folded up at halftime, but they kept fighting. They have a good, young, innovative coach who can keep them relavent.

I know the twitter feeds are buzzing about this as coming this week. The reasons I believe it will happen are:

1.) The 13 team schedule is a nightmare. Ask anyone.

2.) This keeps Auburn in the West.

3.) This opens up new markets.

4.) They are weird enough.

So the other 10 threads on this board didn't give it away?

A good chance they are our permanent opponent.

Nobody I know who made that trip wants them in the SEC regardless.

Better to take just A&M for now.

Good post! WVU is a good fit and I think will be 14.

I'd rather have FSU, Clemson, GT, UNC, OU, and Missouri in that order.

Maybe you can call Mr. Slive and he can make the arrangements for you after you plunk down the $20 million.

WVU is the obvious choice, and a good one.

I wouldn't wish WVU on Conference USA. Lot of good people up there, but there are more bad apples than good ones. And that was them toning it down for LSU after getting begged all week to not be themselves.

Are you from West Virginia, live there or a WVU fan, you're all over their nuts in every thread.

To answer your questions: No and no to the first two, but yes I've followed them since the days of RR and think they have a quality program that is here to stay. I'm no more pro WVU than a lot of people are anti, or pro FSU/Clemson/Mizzou/UNC/etc.

BTW, this is the

Sorry if it bothers you.

What is up with all of this love for WVA. Hasn't it been established that their TV market is miniscule and their fans are unruly (which is o.k.) and violent (which is not o.k.). Wasn't it confirmed that a LSU fan had to be hospitalized and is awaiting surgery? If the story is wrong then I apologize. TV market is tiny and that's confirmed.
