Found this on Wiki: Great for looking at scenarios on expansion!

Map of Football

Also my unasked for 2 cents.
-A&M not as far aways as everyone thinks.
-Mizzou too far North, better fit for Big 10
-Would LOVE to see #14 come from UNC or FSU! (pipe dream IMO)
-VT fits too or even OU & OSU.

Yea adding A&M is not so bad when you think about what other conferences are going to have to do to expand.
B1G may not be so bad, but if teams like OU, OSU, etc go west, thats alot of geographic area.

Cool how similar the scatter of the North/South & B1G/SEC. Almost a mirror image.

Well, after reviewing this map, there is only one logical choice. Washington.

I think VT would make the best addition in a secondary move. It would be cool to get a North Carolina school, but I can't see them getting pulled out of the ACC due to basketball.

Not that much farther north than Kentucky. But, it would put an imbalance of teams in the possible West Division. Not sure if the SEC would want to shift a team already in the West to the East to make way.

Great Map. It really gives a great overview, not just geographically either.

To me, if only one more team is added after A&M, then Virginia Tech looks like the best pick off.

With Kentucky, Tennessee, Vanderbilt in the geographic region, that puts 4 schools in a group. Then with South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida, that makes a pretty good division, geographically and otherwise.

Really?

Starkville, MS to College Station, TX: 575 miles.

Starkville, MS to Gainesville, FL: 534 miles.

This map is great. Makes me think it's a game of RISK. What states do we need to put troops in.

I know UNC and Duke won't ever come, and Wake Forest adds nothing. But are we certain NC State might not have an interest, maybe to get away from the UNC-Duke duo (ala A&M leaving Texas, and what Okie State should do to leave OU)?

Those road trips to Columbia are going to suck for the Aggies.

Ark can cover 5 schools in under 550 miles.
TAMU can only cover 2 schools in under 550 miles. TAMU must travel to 5 school over 940 miles in the SEC.

People talk about moving Auburn to the east but that map shows that Vandy is further west than them. So it would be logical to move them to the west and add three teams from the east.

If we could add Virginia Tech then grab both Duke and North Carolina (have to keep them together) and we would have a monster football and basketball conference.
