If it is true FSU is meeting to discuss expansion options maybe they are not as sold on the ACC as some think. My question, is FSU a big enough pick up for the SEC that the SEC would help with the 20 million buyout?

Seems FSU is more of a football school than a basketball school and it looks like the ACC stayed in the interest of basketball for their expansion more than football.

Did this make FSU more an option now?

Well maybe they expanded in anticipation of losing some teams....FSU is meeting this week to discuss options, or maybe they are just meeting to have some oyster po-boys?

I understand the ACC just expanded. I have made that arguement too. However, they are still having their meeting and let's face it this expansion really did nothing for FSU football more UNC and Duke basketball.

I think that the ACC expansion means that the ACC continues to be part of the BCS/playoff picture and given the teams that they added, it would be crazy for FSU to trade what is likely the easiest path to a championship for the hardest path. Unless maybe they got so much more money that championships no longer mattered. But I don't think that would be the case, especially with the buyout clause. I think that FSU must like the way that things panned out for them.

Somebody mentioned that the ACC can renegotiate with ESPN now they have 14 teams. No one is leaving the ACC IMO.

WVU to the SEC.

A logical swap, both geographically and sportwise, would be Kentucky for Florida State.

BTW, FSU's president voted FOR the increase of a $20 million dollar buyout to leave the ACC (which was approved)

FSU is staying put.

This may sound a little far fetched but what if FSU had a gentleman's agreement with the ACC to not leave until they could add teams and guarantee stability. In return they get no or a reduced exit fee. They sign the agreement to increase the exit fees knowing it won't affectct them if they try to leave later.

The word is that FSU is meeting about their options. Why would they meet if they weren't seriously considering a move?

If you are serious this is not a very well thought out statement.

there is a lot of information to process that apparently most of you havent taken the time to do so.

just because FSU is meeting doesnt mean that have any intention of moving.

where would they move? only the SEC is an option
Slive has said all expansion increases the SEC footprint... how does FSU do that?
UF will clearly protest FSU's move to the sec
20m buyout to leave ACC
ACC expanding to 16
FSU is a giant in the SEC and would be just another good team in the SEC. this would drop their bowl revenue

i see ZERO reasons for FSU to move to the sec.

While kinda out there to me it doesnt seem crazy given the fact that they are still meeting. I mean what the hell are they gonna talk about...Wow man this is crazy shite going on...Im glad we have the ACC..Man the ACC still sucks at football....ok meetings adjourned...Also the ACC would have been painted as falling apart (to a lesser degree) as the big east is currently if FSU left and that would have resulted in a much tougher time of finding teams

This is all probably wishful thinking but like I said what the hell are they gonna do? shoot the shite about college football for a couple hours? While fun Im sure they have other things to do lol
