Too much power in the east. If LSU were to Lose playing Auburn and Alabama every year I would almost rather a North South alignment. Even though it would mean more travel it would be a bit more even in football.
North Mizzou Kentucky Tennessee South Carolina Alabama Auburn Arkansas
South LSU Texas A&M Ole Miss Miss State Florida Georgia Vandy (Only fair to split Vandy and Kentucky they are both weaker in football).
The split with the grey line is about 100 time more preferable. Kind of a NE/SW split. And the competitive split of the teams (based on traditional team strength) is pretty dammned equal on that one. We certainly don't want to be in a division that gets classified as the "weak" division.
That map is horrible for LSU in the long run. I think that LSU will lose a lot of recruits because the blue chippers want to play against the best. I can see Saban asking recruits do you want to play against Georgia, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida or Miss State and Vanderbilt etc.
