How much is the BOS willing to layout for a new coach? I know we have the budget to do what we want, but I see us being cheap about this. Obviously we could incentivize and back end the contract, but some of these coaches we will have to shell out a pretty penny for us to see the results we want.

Jimbo
Swinney
Dantonio
Patterson

Not quite sure about all these contracts but I know Jimbo just signed an extension as well as Dantonio (last year respectively). Also, if memory serves me correctly Dabo signed crazy extension.

So with that said, which coach (any coach) would be most cost effective for our program/be the best fit. (Not ruling out that we couldn't just hire an all around staff with a middle tier coach.) Just wondering what people think.

LSU isn't writing Miles a check for $15M right after they fire him.

LSU is not going middle tier with their next head coach.

The Miles buyout is payable over 8 years.

This has been discussed, TD has search function, good luck.

So you believe our program can just throw around millions a year and not give a shite? As I said we have an extensive budget, so paying new coaches buyouts and paying new coaches etc. things will add up.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnd this is where Uncle SEC Network steps up in the summer and gives us $31.2 million. Money won't be an issue here.

Well our football program is basically keeping the school afloat so I see it being a problem. Not saying you aren't right, but we are about to shell out a lot of cash over the next 5 years. If we screw this hire up we are so done.

The money was put up by several boosters no problem.

It's the biggest gamble I can think of that has been attempted by a winning program in my lifetime. There's a lot on the line. We supposedly have donors lined up. Money won't be why this doesn't happen.

Bull shite. The school funding issue is hyperbole and fear mongering.

Another poster did a great job posting all the legal mumbo jumbo, basically different clauses and excercising options. LSU will only pay Miles around 5-6 million altogether or something like that.
